on our last day we opted to walk over for Lunch, intrigued by the high tripadvisor rating....it was Wed., while most are closed.... we opted to sit in the lovely alley on the side of the restaurant, which is enchanting all cobblestone and old stone iron topped entries...lovely tables all set in a row...ambiance beautiful....plus we escaped the really warm temperatures...lovely wine list, a bit expensive...smaller bottle of Valpollica .375 was 12.00 but was well worth it, delicious selection. The servers are super nice and kind, with a surprise appetiizer on a black slate being brought out, this was excellent, as well as the bread basket... We ordered one plate each from the menu for lunch...expensive....the cooking is more of a creative presentation, as the main focus....so eggplant parmesan was different in taste, and may have had a meat in it. (12. euro) The main fish dish - Salmerino e Trota (18. euro - high) looked colorful and creative, but really lacked the fresh fish flavors enjoyed in the other ristorante's we tried, flavor did not have it, and the sauce on the side did not add at all. So to me it was a creative looking dish only. The small turnip garnish on the side of the fish was the best part. There was a long white hair sticking on the side of the fish which could have just blown in the air...I noticed it and pulled it off.Towards the end of the lunch our legs and ankles were bitten by maybe fleas or mosquitoes in the alley...not the restaurants fault, this happens in dark, moist areas, or where plants hold water. Husband was bitten much more than I was. So "beware" if you have sandals on.... I found the food presentation inspiring...they work hard, and have excellent service.

In the pretty small town of Gordone this lovely Michelin rated restaurant was pure delight. An intimate setting with friendly staff the food was delicious and not over priced for such fine dining. We had tuna tartar and scallops as starters. There was a gazpacho muse bouche then for mains we had the delicious sea bass in olive sauce and tomatoes with lovely creamy fondant potatoes. Prosecco to start of course! Terrific. If the hill is too much there is a small shuttle.

We were staying nearby and visited this restaurant twice in a week. The outside setting is nice and the inside restaurant traditional Italian. There is a long list of pizzas to choose from, average price 8 euros. However we had the hamburger and fries. The meat was from a farm near Florence and there were two juicy burgers (no bun) with fries and salad garnish. This was very filling and tasty and cost 15 euros. A large glass f sparkling white wine was 3 euros and the Leffe beer very reasonable. With a large bottle of water, the bill came to 45 euros. Staff are friendly and speak a bit of English. on a previous visit my husband enjoyed the Sword fish and i had a pasta dish that was good.

This is a small place that is part of a cafe. We popped in for dinner as we were staying in the area. The menu is large and varied. It's cheap and tasty. The staff do not speak English at all but we knew this and studied up before going and it was easy enough. The staff seemed to appreciate it too. It was simply made quick Italian food with no thrills but didn't need it. I'd recommend the garlic oil pepper spaghetti, great flavours. The house wine is decent too. It was just â¬26 for us both to eat with water and wine. It's great for the money but watch a 5 minute YouTube video on ordering Italian before going.

Fantastic place. Very attractive prices and amazing food! You can't go wrong with this place. The pasta magnificent. The octopus salad very tasty. Also service was very pleasant. One of the best places we visited during our stay and not worse than the Michelin restaurants close by. I would even say more genuine.
