We went there for dinner a bit after they opened, the restaurant is well kept and the service was always prompt, professional and friendly. We enjoyed our seafood (fritto misto very much along with amazing vegetables and proper cooked fries)Wine was also great and the sweets delicious also.Pizza looked great, since by the time we left it came full of locals mostly ordering pizza and seafood. It's a bit out of town, but have ample parking and definitely worth it to try it.Best dinner we had in North of Italy this time around.

In the very heart of Bergamo Alta - the ancient upper part of the town- Da Mimmo and his wife Lina begun their adventure in 1956. Traditional Italian food both from the south of Italy and the Bergamo one (for example: Casoncelli pasta and Rabbit with pole

Tucked down an alleyway off Via Borgo Santa Caterina, this large restaurant serves some of the best food in Bergamo. Tijuana is one of a pair of family-owned Argentinian steak-houses that have been around for over 20 years, offering a fusion of Italian and South American cuisines. While very popular with locals and tourists alike, its large seating area means that couples can usually get a table without booking. However, despite its size, the pleasant and well trained staff are very attentive to their customers' needs, making dining feel much cosier. The large menu offers a wide range of dishes reflecting both the Italian and South American traditions but, to be honest, we didn't get far beyond their signature steak offerings! These are ordered by weight from a daily selection of available cuts and, while most are suitable for 2 or more people, a few can be divided for a single person. Naturally, my wife and I couldn't agree on our choices, and so ordered the onglet and the smallest T-bone available (which was still more than large enough). The steaks arrive very rare, but are then sliced at the table by the waiter and placed on your personal, table-mounted charcoal grill, where you can continue to let them cook to your preferred degree. Quite apart from this interesting serving process, both steaks were among the best we've eaten, with excellent flavour and texture. The starters were equally good, with both the empanadas and chorizo being delicious, and a wide selection of drinks and desserts were also available. While definitely one of the more expensive eateries in the area, Tijuana is a definite must-try if you're staying in Bergamo

Monna Lisa grew out of a combination of numerous work and life experiences, in a family which has always worked in the restaurant business. The birth of a daughter... a passion for ancient and traditional art... Sicilian culture which integrates with the
I've eaten much better elsewhere with prices like these. In addition the staff have no idea about service, they take our coats in the beginning only to leave you searching for them when leaving. And also, one hateful thing, which is unfortunately very common in Italy, is that they take your plate whilst you're still chewing your food. What's the hurry?? And I don't like to be left without a plate when my friends are still eating, even if I've finished eating.

If you are looking to find a great beerspot with good Italian& international food, this is the place.First of all the beermenu is pretty good, (and I work in a beerbottle shop).Nice local and international craftbeers from the tap , nice Belgian classics(gueuze and saisons), even nice Italian grape ales. The interior is a pretty minimal, but i like that. the accent is on what u eat, drink, and your company. The food was excellent Italian and fusion.I had for once in Italy, a burger (but with beautiful local meet) and my wife had cabbage in a Korean inspired spicy sauce. Very good.We were sitting the bar and the barman was very friendly and served us very well.Overall a little gem for every beer geek. Definitely recommend to reserve in advance. the place was packed and we got lucky to get 2 spots at the bar.

We really enjoyed eating at this quality restaurant. The food was excellent with a good range of beautifully prepared gourmet dishes. The service was superb and the waiters jovial and helpful. We were even given free hooks to hang our handbags on. The cheese board we had at the end of the meal was my favourite part- just exquisite. ( I would have liked to know what the cheeses were- wish I had have asked!!) if you go to this restaurant, do book in advance as it is very popular. We were pleased to receive a 10% discount as we were staying at La Valletta Relais. The only draw back of this excellent restaurant is the sterile lighting in the eating area. Soft up lighting with candles on the tables would make for a much nicer ambience.

An unmatched setting for a unique experience. The gourmet restaurant of Relais San Lorenzo is embedded within a Roman and medieval Archeological site: an exciting door on time. The fine and high-level cuisine will allow you to taste the pleasure of Italia
The most amazing setting within the restaurant...you sit elevated over medieval and Roman ruins that they uncovered when they were building the hotel & it truly is spectacular. The service really was top notch and you were brought little appetisers and amuse bouche before during and after the courses.32 pages of red wines in the wine list and the sommelier really wasn't pushy, singing the praises of a cheap little Primitivo as much as the 100 euro Amarone we went for.A lovely little ceremony of preparing the wine and glasses to show off the wine's full potential and very long legs. Plus wine glasses that could probably hold a bottle each! Then onto the food...we were going to go for the 3 traditional Italian courses and skip dessert, but we only managed 2 as the portions were fairly generous.Incredibly tasty...there's no need to list what we had as I'm sure every choice would have been just as good.In the end it was around E220 for 2 courses for the 2 of us, but that included a E100 bottle of wine, so I thought a bargain for the setting plus quality of food & wine. The most expensive item on the menu was around 30 euros.Michelin Star service without the pricetag.

This is a classy restaurant. Set in the heart of the beautiful high town of Bergamo, it is a place for romantic dinners or a relaxed meeting of close friends or business colleagues. So when eight, thirsty English golf tourists crash through the door, it rather took the waiter by surprise. Not that we were loud but we were thirsty and we do enjoy a glass of wine followed by another glass of wine as we are studying a menu, which incidentally is terrific here, because this is Lombardian food and cooking very much at its zenith. So, after a while up came the first, crisp bottle of dry Lombardian white which did not stay long in the glass. Sadly it had not occurred to our waiter to recognise that our group were here to have a good time so we needed our stocks replenishing rapidly and were quite happy to pour out our own wine rather than him serve us.However that is the only criticism other than my main course, a perfectly cooked and flavoursome piece of pork that had been slow cooked over 20 hours, could have been hotter.Otherwise the food was superb, with the glorious casoncelli, a stuffed pasta filled with a sage sauce, butter and pancetta, described by one of our party as one of the most delicious starters he had ever eaten. I had a small tartare of the local beef which was sublime, and only wished a larger portion of it had been available as a main.Plates of local beef and rabbit were eaten clean as we eased into some decent cabernet sauvignon, which was now coming through from the shelves at a most pleasing rate. What for me was the highlight was the local cheese board we all had with a selection of Lombardy cheeses all matched on a plate with appropriate sauces. Our waiter, helpfully explained what they all were plus the sauces, known as marmellate or jams in Italy, but I forget now other than that they were universally delicious.Fire in a complimentary grappa with our coffee and we were eight happy chaps. Our group had been a test for the establishment but it had come through with flying colours.
