When we arrived, the owner explained that he doesn't know unti that day what the best fish will be. So, there is no printed menu. We told him to bring us whatever he thought looked best in the kitchen. The seafood was extraordinary, especially for a restaurant 90km north of the Adriatic. We appreciated the personal attention to detail.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking, they accommodated us even though they were busy. Staff was warm, pleasant and attentive. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Food made with more attention and care than other restaurants in the area, with a bit of "farm to Table" vibe. Definitely a good choice

I am 100% satisfied!!!:-) My two nights stay was just perfect. The main reason to go to the rif.Chiggiato was to have a good hike, and I did a fantastic one with breathtaking view, special thanks for that recommendation to the rifugio!!! Bit not only hiking, I got much more I supposed to have. Communication!!! Family is nice, so friendly and very helpful, Omar speaks good English and it was a pleasure to find a sincere companion to discuss a lot of topics, not only about mountains :-) FOOD!!! :-) I am the person which loves good food and always tries to find high quality of gastronomical experience, it was so nice surprise to have as high at mountains such a good prepared, rich in the taste local specialities! Both of the dinner was perfect for me! Panorama... Beautiful location of the rifugio lets you enjoy each minute of the best view around!I am happy about my right choice to stay at the rif. Chiggiato! Hope to be back one day. Thanks again!!!!

This is a place where you would not expect a great restaurant - two hairpin bends down from a 2,300 metres high mountain pass, with a fantastic view of the Dolomites from the terrace, and plenty of sunshine until sunset. You would expect a mountain lodge offering sausage and polenta. But no, here you have great cuisine, ranging from the traditional dishes - albeit modernly interpreted, a bit of nouvelle cuisine - to innovative offerings, including fish (fresh and beautifully prepared) and fantastic desserts. Great choice of wines (in prevalence local or anyway Italian) and warm, informal but professional service. Prices are high but not excessive: every euro is well spent. Fantastic, we'll go again and again.

I would say that the restaurant has an excellent chef. We tried guinea fowl filled with chanterelles mushrooms and home made ravioli with cheese and mint in basilicum-tomato sauce. Both dishes were great! Espresso was also very good. But charge customers 3⬠p.p. for cutlery and bread?? Maybe you can include it in the food price? I do not eat bread (coperto). Why do I have to pay for it? And should I bring my own fork and knife? Strange... The are around is beautiful!
