Gioia del Colle is great little town for a day trip, or a detour. Barbarossa is the perfect refuge for when the sun is at its pinnacle. It's a tiny restaurant, the owner is both waiter and cook (there's another cook in the kitchen). The menu is not extensive but varied, written on a blackboard, suggesting it's very much the choice of the day. The mixed antipasti is a true delight, several fresh cheeses and cold cuts served on a wooden platter. The pasta's we had after were wonderful too. Flavours were great and every plate is made with great care and attention to detail.This is not a village-type trattoria, it's rather a city-place; still traditional but a little more modern, a little more refined....we had a great lunch and would recommend this place to anyone (as we would recommend a stopover in Gioia to everyone). Is there a downside to this place? If so, it's the moment you have to leave this secret hideaway and walk back into the blistering sunlight....

Stopped here after a day out and so glad that we did. The staff couldn't do more for you and we enjoyed excellent food, including gluten free pasta, and great wine. There was a thunderstorm during our time at the restaurant and the staff were very helpful in ensuring we went the right way to our hotel. Thank you Il Cantico, we hope to come back!

Locale curato e personale gentile. Abbastanza veloci nel servire, un'alternativa piacevole a Gioia del Colle.P. S. Il panino attualmente fuori menù gamberi e patate viola era un capolavoro di sapori.

Primi pronti e da preparare, secondi in bella vista appetitosi e straordinariamente ammiccanti, anche di pesce ( attenzione: finisce subito! ). Pranzo di lavoro veloce eche non da traccia di pesantezza, grazie all'accorta scelta degli ingredienti sempre freschi, e la delicata preparazione. Tra l'altro da provare le polpette, bombe al sugo fantastiche! Buono, economico, e veloce.
