We ate here twice during our stay in Hoyos del Espino. The food was superb and the waitress very friendly and helpful. It was a pity it was not more popular.

This is the kind of place you look for when taking a two day trip to the beautiful Gredos natural park. The food is an asador type with Judeones, croquetas, jamon iberico, chuleton, etc. Every plate that can be prepared and cooked (not the Jamon Iberico nor the Queso Manchego) is a home made recipe with a delicious taste that takes you back to the old "cocina de la abuela" feeling. The croquetas are luscious, soft, svelty... just delicious. The judeones are true to themselves. Nothing fancy: real and tasty, the way they should be. The chuletón, is a big 500 g piece of of beef that can be eaten almost raw, given its freshness. No aging or any other treatment. Just meat recently taken from the "matadero" with a pinch of salt. Desserts are mostly home made, and while good, the are the traditional recipes of the region. The owner is a very nice lady that is always attentive to your needs. The house is a 1970's "living room" that is comfortable, warm and with a nostalgic feeling. Net, worth going to this very good, true-to-Gredos, traditional road restaurant.

It was recommended to us by locals at another village and it was good. The outdoors area looked really lovely with amazing views of the Sierra and Almanzor, but it was too cold to sit there. We sat indoors and it was nice and cosy. The food was very good, the portions were quite big and it was of good price. Recommended!!!

Great food, attention and setting all with a reasonable price for the quality offered. The food offered mirrors the traditional cuisine of the region with a modern touch and presented in a way that you start eating with your eyes. A place to recommend and go back.

Fab wine, lush local tapas like: judias del barco and patatas revolconas... The staff was very friendly and and welcoming. The owner seemed to have a good knowledge of wines and he was always very helpful when advising on routes and interesting sightseeing in the area of Sierra de Gredos. Also, It is the meeting point or reception for the rent of a couple of rural houses and a 2* hotel in the village. We rented a local rural stone house and it was absolutely fantastic. I recommend a stop in Bar Gredos if you are in the area.

The Galana, quiet restaurant with great views of the Sierra de Gredos, offers a healthy cuisine made ââwith natural ingredients and premium close to our environment and according to season
Called here on the 'off-chance' one evening and we were made very welcome by the staff. We ordered a pizza and a fish dish; both served within 15 minutes and were well cooked and presented. Including a couple of glasses of wine the total bill was less than £25 - great value. Thanks for your opinion. We are pleased that you came by chance to our house and that you liked our restaurant.Greetings from the entire Galana team.

Close to the excellent and bilingual Equiberia riding school and the fledgling tourist resort of Hoyos del Espino on the north side of the Gredos mountains, this rural restaurant set above the main road with views over the valley produced a very fine meal.Whether salad, gazpacho, roast meats or puddings, everything was delicious and served in a friendly manner. The busy other tables told their own story - this is a well known local haunt, just little known by the rest of us! If you are holidaying in central Spain, or looking for a weekend away from Madrid, Hoyos seems a place well worth investigating for its outdoor activities of hiking, riding, as well as its spa - and putting weary feet up here for a fine meal after.
