Over the last two years, my wife and I have eaten at L'Osteria di Antonio on four different occasions. We have traveled to Italy for the last 17 years to visit my grandparents' village of Cairano.Only 45 miles to the west, we found Mr. Antonio de Stefano. My friends at the Basso Olive Oil Company have lunch with Antonio every Friday. He is the owner, chef and your waiter. There are no menus, just the daily specials written on a chalk board. Antonio was born in Rome and cooked there for 35 years. To avoid the big city life in Rome, he moved south,to his parents' birthplace and opened his small restaurant 3 years ago . We have many great meals throughout Italy, but L'Osteria di Antonio is the best. My favorite is his the Roman dish, spaghetti alla carbonara. My wife likes fresh local vegetables, especially the zucchini pasta . Be sure to have the wine from nearby Villa Raiano. ..Please tell Antonio, that we will be back in October 2015 for the wine harvest !

Il luogo dove potrai rivivere la tradizione contadina gustando la tipica cucina irpina. DAL LUNEDÃ AL VENERDÃ APRIAMO SOLO SU PRENOTAZIONE
I heard about this restaurant from my mom. She grew up in Santo Stefano Del Sole. I live in Chicago and was visiting my family in Santo Stefano Del Sole, Italy. This restaurant is located on a farm. This experience surpassed my expectations. We went for lunch. This was probably a three hour meal. Plate after plate the food was so fresh and delicious. Never in my life have I eaten an olive that was so green, fresh, and flavorful. The antipasti was very good. The mushroom ravioli were amazing. Everything was homemade. The prosciutto, fresh cheese, awesome wine and very delicious cookies for dessert made this a great experience. I could go on and on, but you just need to experience it for yourself. We went in October and ate inside. I hope to come back in the summer and eat In their outdoor area.

A very nice place in Raiano, an old farmhouse used as a restaurant with native stone walls and it has a loft with a wooden balcony. It is a very unique place to spend pleasant hours. The menu is sophisticated and typical of the area. I suggest to try the traditional "zuppa di castagne" a tasty soup made of chestnuts, beans and mushrooms and "tris di carne" you will have a slice of roasted pork with chestnut honey and truffle cream sauce, a sausage with mushrooms and "provola" cheese and some beef with mushroom cream sauce. The meat is delicious, all the product are local and fresh. The staff is nice and kind, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, in winter is also a warm and romantic place.

During the middle of April 2014 I ate and stayed at O'Caprino. This restaurant is operated as a true family affair with three brothers, their wives, and their parents all working to make this restaurant one of the best ones I have eaten at in Italy. I have been going to Italy twice a year for approximately the past 49 years. The owners of the restaurant just completed a six room hotel above the restaurant and the rooms and staff were excellent. Service was great and heat and hot water were plentiful (this is not always found in this part of Campania). The hotel is located six and a half kilometers slightly south of Avellino and is truly a wonderful place to stay and eat. The continental breakfast that was served to me each morning included fruit, yogurt, cereal, homemade pastries, breads and various meats, all nicely presented and extremely fresh.

After arriving in San Michele to see where my maternal grandmother lived, we stumbled into this amazing restaurant. Let's start with the atmosphere. It is a very cozy place, and felt like we were dining at a friends house. Onto the food, I cannot recall how many courses of food that we had, but Giovanni, the owner, had us try a sampling of everything. the steak Fiorentino was the best ever. The creation of dishes by their chef consisting of different cheeses and mushrooms and sausage were amazing I cannot wait to return again during my next visit to San Michele. I wish you were here in NYC!

Antipasteria friggitoria Pizzeria a lievito madre pizza per celiaci su richiesta Prodotti tipici locali
i have eaten in most of the best local and traditional restaurants in my area and i have to admit that there is a wealth of traditional cooking to be found in my province but this well established osteria works well and is still existent because it is simply one of the best. We entered and were served straight away and we were lucky as soon after the place filled to capacity. The anti pasta is famous for it-s size and so instead of opting for two portions we decided to have one portion divided into two .there is absolutely no way you could eat an anti pasto each and then try the pasta and the meat / it would be one or the other as the first course is so rich and comprised today / *varies with the season*3 slices of parma hamone slice each of home made salami, capo collo and panjetta / that is cured cold cutstwo slices of ricottatwo mozarrella balls1 portion of green vegetables traditionally cooked with potatoes and one portion of white bean soup with chestnuts and cured ham1 portion of roasted peppers and pumpkin and one portion each of roasted chicken wings, omellette, parmesan of aubergine and fried zucchini, bread and garlic bread. We ordered 1 litre of wine and one litre of water followed by another half litre of wine.My husband had a plate of hand made tagliatelle pasta with porcini mushrooms but there was pasta with porcini, chestnuts and sausage sauce, wild boar and deer ragut, ravioli and baked pasta.I had a plate of pumpkin and peppers and tried the wild boar sauce accompanied with another 6 pieces of chicken morsels on the side / seasoned to perfection, delicious, i could not have faulted the taste one bit, it tastes so good.I had a pork steak with porcini mushrooms and smoked cheese with a lite wine gravey and my husband a huge veal t bone steak, we ate salad as a side and then my husband had the desert / he had difficulty to choose as they were all mouth watering..........BABA CAKE!! a slice of thin and crispy sponge topped with chantilly cream and then baby rum baba and i had a plate of stuffed cheese with rocket and goats cheese on the side as an extra / we both had grappa and coffee at an amazing price of 55 euros for two / that is around 27 euros per head!!!!At times quantity overcomes the quality of the food when a good price is involved whereas here, quantity and quality dominate the table in equal measure but the best part of all is the price............The place was packed and for good reason, you eat well, are served well and then pay justly for a really good meal.We are local to the osteria and have never been unfortunately but will become regulars as it is so good.Thank you for a great meal and a great experiencerita and gennaro, santo stefano del sole.

We had dinner at this place. They serve very nice antipasto, only made from local food. We went for the antipasto misto, which offers a very nice combination of different dishes including e g. Mortadella with a pistachio cream or wedges with a topping of local cheese. The taste is really exceptional since they use recipes created by themselves: each antipasto is more like a unique composition. Our second dish was what Maurizio calls a sandwich; it looks like a burger but it has nothing in common with a burger: it is made of local cheese, local meat and a variety of marinades and adds, e. g. chestnuts and honey. Eating the burger is a unique experience of taste and a feast for the eyes too!! You do not find a second place of this kind in whole Avellino and Salerno region!!

Great owners, great food, great service! A memorable experience. The seafood tagliatelle, the antipasti and te wine a Cutizzi Greco di Tufo were all spectacular.
Educational farm with typical Irpinia restaurant, riding stables and rooms for overnight stays. We are just minutes from Avellino city. The company's fine products and local specialties are the strengths of the typically Irpina cuisine. Country chic atmos
Sicuramente c ritorneremo. BRAVI.
