Cena con i colleghi di lavoro in questo locale situato alla sommità della collina arredato con gusto e semplicità abbiamo degustato tutti i buoni piatti della tradizione cucinate con buone materie prime della loro azienda e le altre provenienti da az.agricole nelle vicinanze dagli antipasti al dolce tutto molto buono ,ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo,consigliatissimo.

We found this place 2 years ago, and we always want to return again. The best Piemonte food and wine. The price is more then reasonable for such quality. This is not only the restaurant, this is the great hotel as well.

My husband and I just love to come here for a delicious, relaxing dinner. Everything is great with fresh ingredients, the atmosphere is so tranquil and relaxing and the staff and owners all very attentive and caring. After a long week at work we love to go to this wonderful place to unwind......

What a wonderful surprise to reach the top of Castel'Alfero and the beautiful Piazza Castello. Sitting outdoors in the evening with lights on the church is beautiful and romantic to the extreme.Being just outside Asti we started dinner with a glass of Asti Spumante. There are a number of choices by the glass, at various price levels. The wine list included a number of half bottles - a really nice option as we had a 10 km drive back to our place after the meal. Even better the list included a bottle of Castello di Razzano from the vineyard where we were staying.My wife enjoyed a nice Insalata Fantasia with fresh mozzarella, eggs, tomatoes, and olives. We then focused on the pasta, having agnolotti, a peimonte pasta stuffed with a nut sauce, a tagliolini with porcini mushrooms and gnocchi with meat ragu. All were very good - nice size portions and flavourful. Prices were reasonable - in the 7 to 9 euro range.Service was friendly and excellent and the food/pastas very good but what made this meal special was sitting out in the evening on the piazza with the beautiful church all lit up - very romantic.

If you're in Castell'Alfero then it's convenient, though not in the same league as Ristorante del Casot above the village.The food is authentic but unassuming. A table in the corner is reserved for the hermit

what a lovely experience. not only is the food really good and typical of the Piedmont, if you are really lucky you can see a birthday party for the nonna, an anniversary party, and the children playing. we were that lucky on a recent Saturday night. the antipasti is served family style and i would recommend small servings as there are many. the wine is regional and i like the barbera and ruche local favorites. parking is tight so bring your macchina piccola and reservations are a must. not to be missed for an authentic local Italian experience.

If you want really understand the italian passion for food and wine you have to visit Ristorante del Casot. It is not only better of quality food but it's for their sense of hospitality. Ivan (the chef) and his family (mother and father) manage a restaurant that seems to be in another planet, it is located at the top of one sweet hill around Asti, it is a quiet place, where time seems go slow, don't come if you in hurry because despite their great service, time will go slow giving you the possibility to live an awesome experience. Must have the : carne cruda , agnolotti al burro e timo (something spectacular) and one of their wine selection.Amazing , I will never stop to come here and suggest, let's make a favour to you: come to eat here at least one time in your life.Gentilissimi , grazie per le belle parole e per la vostra simpatia !!!

Better experience overall...Great entries... carpaccio with Gorgonzola gorgeous as usual...Really good battuta di carne with black truffle and Raschera cheese...The waiter has been outstanding... suggesting wine and explaining the dishes!Wow!Well done!
