Reviews on Seafood food in Garrucha, Province of Almeria, Spain. Garrucha is a municipality of Almería province, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. Garrucha is a seaport of south-eastern Spain on the Mediterranean Sea and the right bank of the river Antas. In 1998 the town had a population of 5000. The harbor of Garrucha, which is defended by an eighteenth-century castle, affords shelter to large ships, and is the natural outlet for the commerce of a once thriving agricultural and mining district. Garrucha had, at the beginning of the twentieth century a considerable trade in lead, silver, copper, iron, esparto grass and fruit, but now the only export from its harbour is gypsum mined in Sorbas, with a million metric tonnes being exported annually . Besides cargo ships, the port is home to a small fishing fleet and has approximately 300 moorings for leisure boats.

We have used this place before but not for a main meal. Some interesting comments from previous visitors but this review is based on this visit of mine earlier today. A number of local restaurants do something in the way of fish platters. This restaurant also does various other items and tapas. The prices are generally all quite reasonable, considering the location which is right on the marina with views of the boats & water. We ordered the grilled fish platter, which comes with a bottle of wine (or beer/soft drinks) and a plate of vegetables. This for 36 euro's all in. No attempt to get us to buy more (GREAT). Nice grilled fish and nice veg. The service was quick & efficient, for us and the many other people we saw either stopping to eat or drink. We will be back to use this restaurant again, without a doubt.

Seafront restaurant offering the usual fare, but unsurprisingly with the emphasis on fish/seafood. Lager E3-50 a pint. Total price E39 inclusive of a pint and a half of lager, 2 tapas starters and 2 mains plus a dessert to share was very good value and tasty, particularly the fried calamari. Service became slightly haphazard as the meal progressed, but we were in no rush.

Popped in for lunch and enjoyed fresh sardines, lovely white Rioja overlooking the sea. Service was friendly and welcoming view was superb, wine was top notch and the fish was fresh and tasty. The only down side was the number of flies buzzing around and landing on the food which did get annoying after a while. Food drink and view 5/5.

Four of us visited and ordered various mains. I had lamb for around 20 euros. They forgot to put any meat on the bone, the sauce tasted like a mild curry and had I not of had a postrie, I would have left starving. None of the meals were worth it frankly. THEN they attempted to overcharge the bill by doubling up every drinks order. UNBELIEVABLE! Normally I don't check the bill but this saved us 20 euros. The waiter could not meet my eye once he had been discovered. Tourist trap. Stay away. BTW, we live here part of the year and would add this is not the norm for Spanish hospitality. Gracias

We had a very good lunch at this restaurant, with generous portions and good service. We sat overlooking the harbour (it was a little too windy to sit outside but I imagine that it would be lovely to sit outside on less breezy days). Service was prompt and courteous.

Nice setting. Food choices adequate but you need to enjoy seafood.Good wine list and reasonable prices.Service appeared to be a little up and down, language difficulties made staff appeR rude. Not good value for food, meals pretty basic . We would not return.

Stumbled across this restaurant for lunch. It is both a restaurant and a fishmongers. Everything we had was very well cooked and delicious; red prawns, grilled squid, roe and a tomato salad with bonito (cured/smoked tuna). Very much recommend appears to open until 4pm then shuts until 8pm for dinner. Very much worth a visit.

Whilst specialising on fried fish this place also does much more, with even a few veggie options. - fried aubergine was delicious. The clams were fresh and lovely. Calamaritoes wonderful. Efficient and friendly service. All very reasonably priced.
