Reviews on Mediterranean food in Moraira, Province of Alicante, Spain. An old fishing town on Spain's Costa Blanca against a backdrop of mountains, Moraira is a picturesque destination for a family holiday. You will find a combination of sandy and rocky beaches alternating with intriguing coves, and the climate is a sunny but temperate one. If you are looking for water sports, head for Portet Cove which was originally a safe haven for ships. It is within walking distance of the lookout tower near the Cap d'Or, from where there are spectacular views of the coastline. Don't miss the eighteenth century castle, right by the shore. Golf lovers will be pleased to know that Moraira has three golf courses. As well as spending time on the beach, you can enjoy a boat trip and admire the clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. On your return, choose from a delightful array of restaurants along the shore.

I visited Ca Pepe with a friend for an evening meal. We sat on the outside terrace which was a perfect setting and we both enjoyed an exceptionally fresh and tasty three course meal. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the service was excellent but not over attentive, which we both appreciated. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to Moraira.Thank you so much for your lovely comments, great food in a relaxing atmosphere with excellent service is what our aims are and we are delighted we met these for you. Tasca 42 is a delightful Spanish tapas bar with a sea view and a good selection of wines and tapas at very reasonable prices. The decor is modern/chic with indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Ana the owner, with her Italian partner Michele,
Visited after reading reviews for tasca 42. Our first meal in Moraira, we didnât book a table so sat inside. Staff polite and friendly. Wine was delicious and very reasonably priced. Local house red, Tempranillo was 3 euros a glass. So the food.......well it was very Spanish. Possibly too Spanish for my wife and my son. Tapas were very tasty, we went for pan y Ali oli and tomato, chicken wings and fresh sardines. Main courses were just ok. My son ordered cuttlefish but wasnât too keen!!! So I ended up eating most of it. My daughter and I ordered garlic prawns with guacamole and chips!!!!???? It was very tasty but very filling. My wife had the mini burger which was just enough for her as she wasnât too hungry. Menu is quite different so donât expect to go there with a list of meats, fishes, pastas etc. The place does get busy and especially outside seating so booking would be advised.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch here. We hadnât booked and chanced upon a pavement table. The waitresses took a while to get to us but once we ordered everything was lovely. We had prawns, the mozzarella salad and homemade croquettes which were beautiful. The kids chicken fingers were made with chicken fillet and were really tasty too. It is tucked a bit out of the way of the main tourist route but itâs definitely worth seeking out.

We love eating seafood and whilst in Moraira, we decided to try out the Piscis restaurant as it is rated highly on Tripadvisor. We called in the restaurant one Tuesday evening without a reservation, however, we were offered a table for 2 as there were some tables free. We were offered a glass of sparkling white wine once seated. There are plenty of fish dishes in the menu. We had a mixed salad and prawn cocktail as starters and our mains consisted of mixed grilled fish and peppers stuffed with squid. Both dishes were delicious; the fish was cooked to perfection and the squid's sauce was out of this world, absolutely tasty. We were so full that we did not order any dessert. The service was attentive and personal which was very pleasant. We had a lovely meal here and would come here again. The Wise-OnesSeptember 2019

Chillers Restaurant & Bar serves high quality Latin street food and fantastic wines, beers & cocktails.
This isnât the sort of cuisine we would normally choose on holiday as we tend to look for local cuisine but given the trip advisor ratings we thought it was worth a visit. The food was tasty and the service excellent. I had some food envy over my husbands burrito bowl! The kids enjoyed their meals which were generous portions and good quality. My son befriended the chef and has repeatedly asked to revisit Ninja guy!The menu was well priced with a good mix of vegetarian options.

An exciting, fresh and healthy alternative serving the best coffee, juices, smoothies, wraps, salads and more. All fresh, never fried or frozen and all made to order. Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and all dietary requirements catered for.
Leaving Moraira is always difficult. Live here is perfect and I am sure we will end up living here some day. Coming to Artesano is also like coming home. Matthew and Ismael are like family. And new member Jess is a fantastic new sister! Oh yes, the food and drinks. Always perfect. For healthy people its just what we need every day. Smoothies, salads, juices... And the coffee is so good too. And try the cakes, made by a friend of the boys. Yummy!

We have never met a better restaurant manager than Christian and doubt there can be one. He is charming, professional and the perfect host. His team are also excellent and Kostaâs food lives up to all the rave reviews...the special dessert is ridiculous, just wonderful!

We visited El Castillo Restaurant and had simply awful food! We were treat badly after returning some chicken that was so undercooked it was dangerous! The owner knows I'm going to leave a review after the way we were treated. The children ate 7/10 chicken nuggets and then told us they were cold, funny coloured and wet. I quickly stopped them having any more and called the lady waiter to politely point this out....we waited ten minutes and nothing was done. I complained to a gentleman waiter and he said he would make some more. Not something any of us wanted to experience again and even left one of our party very upset at the thought of being very ill for the rest of our stay...The waiter then quite rightly said' "what do you want me to do?" and I simply said, "bring me the bill please and we will see". He took the price of the nuggets off but not the fries it was served with. I then said "are you happy with that?" and he said "yes" I told "I am not" at this point what appeared to be the owner stepped in and said "pay me nothing" I said I'm a fair man and offered to pay for the drinks at least. He said "No" and then quickly added "and never come in my restuarant again!" Now somehow I think that's very unlikely as the food was awful and we were going home the day after anyway. What really got to me was there was no apology what so ever and told to never come back. I have told you all exactly as it happened as I'm not one for twisting the truth. I have posted some photos of the dangerous food. Avoid this place! it wants closing down immediately in my honest opinion.

Great little restaurant called in on Saturday night and was made extremely welcome with a lovely label on their small but stunning terrace. Following a great conversation with the owner who knows how to work âfront of houseâ fantastically we ordered Chiperonies a la planca and tortilla (freshly prepared) both plentiful and a delight to eat. To follow on our hosts recommendations we had Tuna (caught that day) and Roast Suckling Pig again both were not oversold and a joy to eat. We washed it all down with an inexpensive bottle of Albarino chilled to perfection. Itâs great to find restaurants that are true to the region and country. Thanks for a great evening and an outstandingly memorable meat.
