We parked the car and took a stroll the aim was to find some lunch before continuing to the airport at Alicante. Stopped here to escape the heat, it was mid thirties & early afternoon.I don't mind a bit of brusque Spanish service, got it here, we took a small drink & continued the search for a spot of lunch.

In the center of Elche we find a restaurant full of charm. Decor inspired by the 1920s, Mediterranean cuisine and dishes full of flavor by its oven of coals Josper
The good points: Nice decor. Nice for a treat. Not as expensive as it looked. Good for a change from outside holiday eating. Great air conditioning. The bad points: Very little choice for veggies. Service was not very attentive. Hard to get the attention of staff for more drinks etc.Thank you! See you soon!

If you just want a competent meal, this is the place. No liquid nitrogen, no other exotica, just nicely prepared food. In my case a vegetable soup, followed by a very nicely cooked cod. All washed down with a nice wine they recommended. My colleagues were similarly pleased.Staff was very friendly.

The food here was very good indeed. Beautifully presented and delicious. We had two complimentary amuse bouche - a very delicate courgette mousse and some really delicious ham croquettes. Our starters were the langostine crujientes with a coconut and currey cream and the duck parfait, both of which were exceptional. My husband then had a fabulous steak - very tender and juicy and very tasty and my mother and I both had fish - the merluza and the sole, which were both delicious. Our puddings were chocolate mousse with a dulce leche ice cream and an almond cake with a turron icecream, again the presentation and the taste were exceptional.I have given this review a very good, instead of excellent as the complimentary glass of wine to start with had to be returned as it was tasteless and not good and the second glass we were offered was oxidised. The waiter changed both without hesitation and the third glass we were given was delicious as was the Enrique Mendoza bottle of white that we ordered.Service was very professional and discrete and the ambiance in the restaurant was lovely. Very impressed also by the bill which came to just over â¬100 for three of us, which I thought was very good value for the quality and standard of the food.

Beautifully presented restaurant. Food was absolutely amazing. The presentation was so artistic....almost too beautiful to eat. The food was very tasty as well...every plate we had was delicious. You can have as much or as little food as you like by ordering different dishes. The restaurant was full, but the service was still very good. Very polite and professional staff. Six tables guarded by a green greyhound in a quiet pedestrian street. A gastronomic project that decides to grow from a cuisine based on product and local specialties opened to influences. An honest restoration concept with himself and his environment. A
What a lovely restaurant. This is what you are looking for in a good dinner. An owner who loves his food and talks with passion about the dishes. And that is what you get. Great local modern food made with passion. And leave some room for dessert. The chocolate one is heavenly. And, we are sighthound owners. So always lovely when the room is decorated with Galgoâs ;)

Flavors of our country with a personal style. Food & music in very warm environment.
Bordering on fine dining, La Musa de Velarde serves creatively designed dishes that are pretty to behold and wonderfully appealing. Our family of four ordered fried green tomatoes, Musa meat pastry (made with candied beef cheek, sweet peppers and pomegranate caviar) and veg wrapped roll as starters -- all a feast to the eyes and a treat for the taste buds. For mains, we ordered the house burger and steak loin. Burger was tastefully cooked, nestled in soft and fluffy buns. The steak were delicious, tender and sumptuously moist, albeit portions were too small compared to its gastronomic taste! All in all, the food we had was delightful, elegant, made with a certain level of sophistication. The ingredients are well matched and perfectly formed. For this kind of food, we thought the prices were above average but justified.
