I am afraid that I cannot agree with the previous reviews- husband and I had menu Del Dia for 16 euros each and I have to say the quality was extremely basic and considering this completely overpriced. My starter of Judias ( cannellini beans) was just about ok, the lamb stew was made with poor quality fatty meat and not even particularly tasty, the desert described as ice cake was basically viennetta. The wine was cosecha, the lowest quality Rioja. These comments have been made as the previous day we had a meal in a restaurant near the BMW garage on the outskirts of Santander while our vehicle was being repaired, paid exactly the same but the quality of the food was about 5 times better. Having said all that it seemed to be popular with locals and the staff were very friendly.

Antiguo Casa Palacio de Viana de 1619, actualmente Bodega Restaurante y Hotel con encanto. Cocina vasco riojana de basada en la calidad del producto
What can we say? Sons/Owners Juan & Javier, and Reception/Concierge Rosmery simply "get it!" This was our 4th trip to Spain in 20+ years...we spent 3-in-depth weeks exploring Madrid, Spanish & French Basque Country and Barcelona...and this was our single best/favorite hotel, restaurant (food & beverage) and experience in Spain. (This is also an operating winery which dates back to 1619 and is still in their family since!). Do yourself a favor, stay there (it is like living in a mansion &/or castle), eat there (the breakfasts and dinner were absolutely wonderful...best/favorite food in Spain), drink/wine-taste there (Juan is an incredible winemaker) and experience everything they have to offer. It is like blasting into the past 399-years ago (which next year in 2019 is literally their 400th anniversary). The sons/family have turned this place into a gem via hard work, TLC & generosity, kindness and attention to detail. We stayed here 2-nights and wish it had been 2-weeks...and we didn't want to leave. Plus, with their own winery, "Bodega Mayor de Migueloa"...and "Bodega Ysios" and "Bodega Marqués De Riscal" which are also "musts" to visit...only minutes away nearby and all wonderful. Thank you Juan & Javier, and Rosmery for making our dreams come true! And we'll be back!

Dona Blanca is a cafe / restaurant located outside the walls of the town of Laguardia (Alava), is built on an old warehouse where once wine was made, although you can see the deposits, now decorated with a glazed overhead view makes most spectacular decor
We were desperate for food during the time when most restaurants are closed in the afternoon. Fortunately, Dona Blanca was open. They had a varied menu of Spanish dishes and good wines by the glass. Inside there was air conditioning and the tables at the back had a beautiful view out the windows over the vineyards of Rioja. A great choice if you need a meal while in LaGuardia.

Super lunch yesterday here in sunshine enjoying great food and great price!! 30 euros for 3 courses with Rioja. My starter of peppers stuffed with tuna perfect and chicken main also very good . Ended with espressos . Staff friendly and enjoyed speaking Spanish ( not perfect) but I made effort and will happily return.

We stayed in the Castillo El Collado Hotel (highly recommended) and the first night we had dinner at the Michelin star restaurant (De Los Parajes) in the beautiful, old, Laguardia Town centre. We found the food at El Collado actually better, presented well and bigger portions. You also cannot beat the views when sitting outside- you can almost see the whole Rioja region. Will definitely be back!

We took the lunch Menu de Degucacion (tasting menu). It turned out to be six imaginative and delicious courses served up at a fairly high pace in some 90 minutes. At 40 euros we considered it reasonably priced for this quality, and wine was even cheap at 2,50 for a glas of delicious Crianza. Parking was easy and free in the neighbourhood of the hotel. Service very friendly although not much English spoken. Overall a big success! The restaurant was recommended to us by the staff at hotel La Capellania in San Asensio, also a nice place.

We were a bit dubious when we arrived at this restaurant. We were early and were invited to view the cellar downstairs, which we didn't find to be very interesting. We were then seated in the restaurant, the first people to arrive, so it was lacking in atmosphere. However, our waiter changed all that. He was extremely friendly, gave us lots of information about the menu, helped us choose the wine and advised us we only needed to order one dessert !The portions are copious. We had the cote de boeuf for two for the main course. It was beautifully cooked, tender, with big friend potato slices. I am only sorry we couldn't do it more justice.Very good meal, friendly ambience.

Came here for lunch having read the positive reviews.Service was good at the beginning although we were left to deal with our coats.Nice room with lovely views. The restaurant clock was showing the pre 28th October time on the 7th November.Ordered fish soup 7/10 and crab salad for starters 5/10. The fish soup came in a tureen self served on to a COLD wide brimmed dish meaning the soup went tepid very quickly. No condiments like crotons or grated cheese. The crab was a mush and unremarkable. For the main course we both chose monkfish. This was served with 3 tasty prawns and sat in a sauce of the soup I had just eaten(!). No veg, or carbs of any description accompanied this â¬22 dish. The monkfish was presented as 2 large fried balls in a light batter. Not good. 6/10 at best.Little cooking skills demonstrated anddisappointed we skipped desserts not wanting to lengthen the ordeal.By this time there were 5 tables full in the restaurant. On leaving we were largely ignored. No âhope you enjoyed your mealâ or âthanks for comingâ.The bill including 2 glasses of wine and 2 coffees came to â¬83. Could easily have spent â¬130 here had we had aperitifs, a bottle of wine and desserts.Wouldnât return.

Located on the outside wall of the beautiful town of LaGuardia, the restaurant has a lovely outlook over the countryside. We chose three courses from a la carte, including a fantastic fleshy octopus entry, massive rib eye (Chuleton) and lovely soft chocolate fondant. The wine list is reasonable with a good selection of local wines. We had a mix up with food - despite the English menu, the waiter does not speak English and the dishes were lost in translation. There was a waitress who came later that speaks English. Apart from that we enjoyed the dinner. Prices mid â¬20âs to â¬40 for big plate of beef. We would go again.

Mouthwatering cuisine from local fresh produce . The restaurant is located in the exclusive setting of the 15th century wine cellars of the palace of the Duke of Najera. Food, Wine and History create a truly unique experience to enjoy any day of the week.
We liked the ambience of the restaurant a lot due to the unique mixture of old, but renovated building structure and the modern furniture style. And this was topped by the very friendly, professional and customer orientated waitress. One of us had started with an excellent Salat with goat cheese, and an almost rare cooked T-bone steak. The meat was nonetheless tender full of a wonderful taste. The other one had a regular mixed salad not on the menu with pork. Those was delicious. That altogether with the dessert and the Crianza local Rioja wine emade it a unique experience. Really lovely chatting with you guys. I'm really glad you had a great time and I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. Say hi to your brother for me. All the best
