Il Delfino has been in Portopalo for ages and, although located nicely at the beach, past quality of food was not great, thus bad reviews were deserved. However, the place has now been taken over by the owners of La Luna Nel Pozzo, one of the best ecotourismo restaurants around Menfi. As expected, the food is great and well priced. The menu is light and offers at the same time from pasta to pizza to fish / seafood a very good selection. The seafood is fresh and tasty, portions are well sized. Plus, pasta and pizza are served also gluten free - just ask for it.Only thing we were missing was the superb parfait di mandorle that La Luna serves - might the owners consider to serve that in Il Delfino.Overall a must go and definitely recommend, great quality and good value for money.
Roxy is a modern and historic venue that offers to its customers the best of Sicilian culinary tradition, using local products. Our pizzas are prepared with flours of Sicilian stone-ground grains and left to grow for 24 hours with our sourdough. Seasoned
We visited the lido with 2 families and booked to full umbrellas with chairs for the whole day. We had around 40 dregeees that day and our daughter, 4.5 years old, wanted to play on the beach. After having booked the 2 sets of umbrellas and chairs, I kindly asked to put our own umbrella in front to the beach four our daughter. She completely disagreed and the only solution for her was to sell is a third set for the whole price including chairs. The lady seems to be very focused only on her own interests and was very arrogant. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this place at a beach that is usually very children friendly. The roxy lost most of its appeal and good image built up in decades . Sometimes one wrong image at the front of a brand can damage everything. It is wat it is...

We stopped here for lunch late one afternoon when almost everywhere was shut up and even though there were no other customers being both late in the day and late in the season, we were greeted warmly and treated to some genuine home-cooked, authentic local food at a very reasonable price.
We went there on the evening to hzve dinner with our kids and our godparents. Simply reztaurant with great dishes. Pasti Carbonara delicious, Pizza spinach great, pepperoncino yummy. At the end we got a pizza con frutti ( with fruits ) from the house wich I didn't have time to photograph. Untill I took my camera it was all over ( eaten ). Everybody was licking their fingers. Local wine from the nearby wineyard also delicious. We will surely go there again.

The outside of the restaurant didn't look anything special but don't be out off. Superb seafood from a limited menu - especially the mixed seafood starters and lobster linguine. Full of locals and no tourist menu (which is always a plus). Restaurant looks over the harbour and the waiters were invariably courteous.

Returning from the beach or a tour of our magnificent territory will definitely be a stop in our welcoming locale, Regina D'Alabastro (located in the small square next to the Municipal Library of Menfi) to delight your Vs palate with good food based on Lo
We wanted to have a local experience and set out a few miles from our deluxe accommodations at La Foresteria, to explore the nearby town of Menfi. We asked an elderly gentlemen on the street where to eat and he directed us to the pizzeria, Regina d"Alabstro. We enjoyed a variety of different foodsâ¦caprese salad, artichokes, sicilian pizza, pasta with swordfish, veal chop, spaghetti bolognese. Somewhat of a smorgasbord, but very satisfying and tasty for a very reasonable price. Considering our language barrier, service was excellent. Always adds to the travel experience to eat where and what the locals eat.

Had dinner twice and both times the pizzas were excellent. And reasonably priced. Drinks on the menu were not all available. Friendly atmosphere, most people seem to know each other... mainly locals. This restaurant is not on the beach and is not fancy, but definitely serves good pizzas.

The day after we arrived in Cefalu, Sicily, we drove to Menfi to meet, for the first time, newly discovered relatives of my wife. They were so happy to meet us, and we were very excited as well. They drove us down to this beautiful place, not far from the beach, and treated us to the most wonderful meal we had in our 3 week Sicilian/Italian vacation. We had a 3 course meal and the food just kept on coming. First there were some finger foods typically Sicilian, then mussels on a plate of Sicilian pasta with chunks of swordfish, and a tasty shrimp on a bed of risotto. The next plate had a different type of shrimp, with a swordfish steak and the best calamari I have ever tasted. The wine was made in the local Mandrarossa winery, and was the first white wine I have ever liked. "Costadune Grecanico " is all I can remember, and I wish that I could find it here in the U.S. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. It is roomy and can accomodate large groups (and there is outside dinlng as well). This is a destination we will visit again.
