Young lad serving was superb. Friendly, helpful not overly attentive but great when you needed and recommendations were helpful. And he was happy to listen to my rubbish Castilian Spanish! Hooray! We like seafood a lot, though the kids aren't as adventurous yet as we ar. We had pulpo, hake, cockles, mussels. It was all wonderful and very reasonably priced. Raciones is what they call it. A continuous supply of wonderful plates to share. Bigger than tapas. Fantastic. We turned up early and got a table. They opened eight thirty. After ten and you'd have struggled and this was a weekday. The main man has got it sussed. Simple food with very good ingredients. Nothing pretentious, nothing silly. Brilliant. I wish we could do this back home without the fakery!Que aproveche!

A truly exceptional restaurant. Very welcoming with fantastic food, deserts and comprehensive wine list. One of us is a vegan, and they prepared a special vegan dish which was one of the best we have ever had. Superb price, outstanding quality and this will be a regular place for us to dine this summer

This is one of the best restaurant in Laxe. They offer you a complete menu of fish, see food and meat. Donât miss the octopus a feira (boiled as Galician style with olive oil and papikra) which is served full piece. Also there is a great dish of Zamburiñas and Navajas (seafood) very fresh. For two, this will be enough. Nice staff but not sure if they are English speakers.

We had a lovely lunch here, outside under umbrellas looking out at the harbor. My wife had a delicious green salad and I had an exquisite scallop dish...7 scallops, beautifully presented and excellently prepared. Quite a wonderful experience and a great surprise, since we just got here after about 18 hours of traveling. This plus a beer, a glass of wine and four coffees (friends joined us for coffee) cost only â¬30. A real bargain for a wonderful lunch on the first day of vacation!

We were staying in a villa just up the road from here, and were very glad to have such a good restaurant in walking distance! We came twice and enjoyed all of the different raciones that we tried: very well-cooked and good value Galician food. Special mention for the chuletón steak- it was massive for the price (â¬17) and absolutely delicious!

I get so excited when I tell people about this place. The journey to it, its location and the wonderful host, food, music and wine that awaits is extraordinary. Some of us travelled by motorcycle from SE France and the UK and were recommended to try Mar de Ardora by a girl in Pamplona. When we arrived we were immediately made to feel welcome by the Galician owner and chef who had worked for many years in London. He made me scrambled eggs with scallops and melba toast which were divine on the terrace with a glass of local white wine. I followed that with some locally caught fish cooked in the Gallega style (slow baked with tomatoes). I was unable to return this last time but some friends left me in Oviedo and continued to the Costa del Muerte including this place. They were not disappointed!
