We loved our meal at Codex. Our waiter Joaquin was warm and attentive helping us through menu highlights. Padron peppers were delicious and the paella hit the spot. The drink recommendations were outstanding and we closed out the dinner with a conversation and a delicious sipping whiskey.

We had a group and had the restaurant to ourselves. The food was excellent and varied. The owner introduced us to all of the staff including the guys in the kitchen. The service was excellent - everyone very friendly, very sharp. The restaurant had a great feel to it. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Lovely food and great service at this typical seafood restaurant in Calle Franco from Santiago. The quality is one of the best and price is good.Don't miss the Arroz con Bogavante.Better to book well in advance on weekends.Dear customer, thank you very much for visiting the A Barrola restaurant and for choosing one of our best dishes such as Arroz con Bogavante; of exquisite flavor thanks to this crustacean of white meat, consistent and tasty. All our products are from the Earth, this makes any dish of good quality.I hope to see you again soon.Best regards!

Traditional and fresh Galician cooking Local fish, Galician meats (ternera gallega) Homemade pies Galician octopus Galician shellfish Tapas
Wanted seafood rice on this rainy cool day and this was the closest I could find. A bit pricy for a Galician style paella. Mainly crab difficult as always to eat with some clams..not that satisfying. The bouillabaisse to start similarly not replete with seafood but tasty. The glass of Ribeira seemed to come from a bottle opened too long. Altogether not bad but not great.

This is a great small Tapas Bar in a narrow street just down from the Cathedral, that is dotted with similar bars and eating places. This was packed and had great atmosphere and the food was good quality if not stylish. Go to the Black Cat for some fun as everyone was enjoying themselves. standing at the bar or jostling for a table

In full Rua do Franco (very close to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela) your restaurant is always adapted to modern times. Meson 42 is your confidence to make local wines, a beer or sit and enjoy traditional Galician cuisine prepared with love
Good and plentiful food, and a buzzy atmosphere. The road has many restaurants with similar Galician menus, so you probably can take your pick. We were a group of 9 and they made up a table for us very quickly, so quickly in fact that we had only just ordered a couple of bottles of house wine from the bar while we waited. The barman chose instead to serve us with a couple of his most expensive bottles, including one not even on the wine list, so I guess he could charge what he liked for it. We also tried to get tap water (the town is full of public drinking fountains and the tap water in the hotel is fine. . .) but this was treated with contempt. Plastic drinking water bottles at â¬2.90 were therefore served. 'Meson 42' was rechristened 'Fawlty Too' when the chubby waiter having nearly pulled a bottle from the rack with his bottom, squeezing behind our table, managed it only too well at the second visit. A bottle of wine shattered on the floor, and we all had to get up and move while the mess was cleared. The recommended Tacos Bacalaowas over priced and turned out to have 3 very small pieces of cod and a lot of potato. The langostinos and the sea food platter were plentiful.Anyway we enjoyed ourselves even if the meal turned out to be our most expensive.Hello Tumlingtar2015, we are very sorry that your experience in our restaurant was not entirely satisfactory. As you can see in other reviews, we usually receive many tourists and also local people in our restaurant, always putting the best of our part for everyone. We will consider your comment to try to improve in the future. Regards!

Almost like a private club but really amiable. They make you feel at home and offer superb suggestions of truly great seafood dishes (I didn't try the great looking meats). Intimate, modern, imaculate and absolutely wonderful cuisine... Oysters amazing, scallops OMG, and Rape Negro (best monkfish I've ever tasted without doubt). Cannot wait to return.

Based on my own experience, Itâs a wonderful place to enjoy eating fresh fish and seafood. Good environment, fantastic service. We went the last weekend and enjoyed very much tasting the variegated scallops, razor shells and Martiño . Highly recommended. Weâll come back.

I had dinner there last night after reading good reviews. Couldnât get in the night before but last night it wasnât busy at all. Had tomato salad which they are famous for, and even though I ordered a starter portion it was enormous and I could only eat a half portion. Tasty enough if you like tomatoes! For main course I had hake, Muros style. It looked beautiful on a bed of sliced potatoes, but in true Galician style it was way over salted. I donât know why they use so much salt. Itâs overpowering and you canât taste the fish at all!Maybe another dish would be less salty....
