TripAdvisor reviews lead us to Gloria Bendita, a restaurant tucked away just off the seafront and promenade. The very friendly staff helped us through the menu with a little bit of English/Spanish and Google translate!! The mussels were lovely in a very tasty sauce and the Red Tuna was great.....the chocolate 'bomb' sweet which we shared was a great finale!! A very enjoyable evening....

Kitchen hours from 13:00 to 16:00 and 21:00 to 23:00. Closed from September 17 to October 3 inclusive for staff rest.
We were there one evening after finding it on tripadvisor, and we were not disappointment. The service is great, also thanks to the waiter, who makes you feel like home. The food is good and abundant. The home made cheesecake which Antonio proposed us was worth alone the price of the dinner, less than 10 euros each!Absolutely advised.

We were on a day trip to A Coruña. We visited the Castillo San Antón and the Torre Hercules (Both recommended). It was getting close to 4PM when most restaurants close. Did a quick Trip Advisor search and found Pulperia Raizor. We picked it because we wanted to try the pulpo that Galicia is famous for and because it was close by. It was back off the beachfront nestled in with some other restaurants. The room is casual and humbly appointed. The staff was very welcoming and helpful wading through the Galician words. The pulpo and scallops were an order of magnitude better than any seafood I have ever eaten. The cheese plate was excellent. Had a Galician wine which was light and perfect with the food. Fran our waiter was super friendly and helpful. Our entire party loved the food. Very reasonable price! â¬55 for food and drinks for 4. I wish I was a regular! Sorry about the photos, waited a bit too long!!

Service is fantastic, the presentation and flavours are so delicious! We had three specials.... a smoked salmon, avocado, and mango ceviche....divine, an ahi special, and a beef rump steak sliced, rare, with bleu cheese stuffed gnocchi. Pictures of all three attached. The pulpo was not our favorite, we prefer a more simple presentation. The desserts on the other hand, absolute decadence. The almond cake with whiskey flambe is exquisite....salivating just thinking about it, vanilla tarte with mango and a sort of pistachio marscapone scoop', hard to explain....but grew on me with each bite, and then a lovely chocolate, crackling crusted tastiness rounded out our meal....Suggested wine, a red Spanish blend, and after dinner port finished off our night in a perfect manner.Reuben, our server, was fantastic! Our compliments, again, to this great little gem of a restaurant!

It is a small restaurant, so booking would be advisable. The cooking is superb. All the products are fresh and the chef takes great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. It also provides a good selection of Spanish wines . And the service accompanies the high quality of the cooking.

Ok. When my friend asked me how brave I was feeling that night I thought to myself... "Brave?" "In Ferrol?" "You have to be kidding me!!!". We all know each other. We all know EVERYTHING that is going on! Despite my initial reaction, I decided to let my friend decide where we would be dining that night... The car stopped in front of Vanessa. "Here???" I could not believe it! Vanessa is one of those places from the 90s where we used to have ice cream during lazy-Sunday afternoons... Oh boy was I wrong... Dinner started with a small un-promising printed menu. There were approximately 20 small plates ranging from 2 to 10 euros. We ordered almost everything. Soon enough we realized that the chef (and yes, I call him chef), did not match the décor: it was a succulent succession of small delicacies, retaining the usual "tapas" style with a twist... The presentation of the tiny plates which, as bombs of flavor were landing at our table, was imaginative and tasteful. It is a tapas place, after all, but he was able to give delicacy to dishes as popular as cheese and anchovies... I left the place longing for more... Since then, I have visited Vanessa in two more occasions. Each time, I had a pleasant, accommodating experience. I have not met the chef in person yet but, from here, I can only say that he is what a restaurant needs: commitment, enthusiasm, candor and sensibility. All these over a plate of bravas. Please do not miss. I give it 4 stars because of the décor, however, maybe, that is what makes this place so fascinating... I do not know...

In so many (we were 15) we went to this restaurant without reservation and, after some hesitation, we were greeted with cordiality (bonus). We tried a selection of crustacean appetizers (shrimps, grilled saintjacques, fried octopus ...) and a main dish (I tried angler and cheese: really good!) to end up with a chocolate cake. With 4 bottles of A cova do lebre ribeiro 2016 and one of sherry Hechizo Pedro Ximénez 2008 (but you can choose in a quite large list of wines, with a lot of Spanish producers). Just a little more than 35 ⬠each. Highly recommendable!

The food and people are always great, whether lunch, dinner or a quick tapita. It's a little tucked away off the beaten track, but worth it for nice cozy restaurant and bar. Been more times than can count, and never disappoints. Enjoy!!

Modern and exceptional variations of traditional dishes based on seafood. Starter with marinated shrimps with sauce and strawberries is interesting, but lacks a bit of taste. Octopus, red tuna and scallops with garlic sauce are great, explosion of tastes, perfect texture and decoration. Dessert is a must have. Funny and great!Service is great, friendly atmosphere.

Restaurante a la carta con un punto informal. Especialidad en arroces, carnes y pescado de lonja local. Postres caseros y elaborados. Bodega muy cuidada y variada.
This restaurant really gave us a great surprise. We were welcome by Ana, the waitress, who is very nice and can give good advice about the menu. There is a wide variety of options among the starters, we chose the marinated salmon and mackerel tartar on sushi rice with a fried egg, a very tasty experience. Most diners had also ordered one of the rice dishes, we went for the dry version (a banda) with monkfish and prawns. Delicious, just like the veggie pad Thai that our kid enjoyed. The wine was also great and the ambiance and lighting made the overall impression a very pleasant one. Totally recommend,itâs probably the best addition to the A Coruña restaurant scene lately.
