We found this hidden restaurant in the back streets of Santiago. If you are looking for the ultimate restaurant experience and you like surprises, ask the chef to choose for you and you won’t regret it!!! They don’t have WiFi, which we thought was excellent. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable if you’re in for a long dinner. The tables are shared so you easily start a conversation with your neighbours. The only thing I regret is to not repeat the plate of domburi de xarda ;-)

What a memorable meal! Just outstanding. We had the tasting menu and loved every single item. Beautiful presentations and delightful tastes. Price was quite reasonable given all the courses and amount of food. Lovely setting just outside of the city center. Wish we could go back again.

Amazing restaurant,
Food was incredible fresh and nicely presented. Service was excellent and the value overall is difficult to find.
We had three appetizers, three entrees, a bottle of a very good Albariño + 2 x extra glasses and dessert for total euro 139,00. witch is the same price we pay at home for two orders of meatballs, kale salad, one large pizza and a bottle of wine.
If you are planing to visit A' Coruña you can't miss this restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended.

I get so excited when I tell people about this place. The journey to it, its location and the wonderful host, food, music and wine that awaits is extraordinary. Some of us travelled by motorcycle from SE France and the UK and were recommended to try Mar de Ardora by a girl in Pamplona. When we arrived we were immediately made to feel welcome by the Galician owner and chef who had worked for many years in London. He made me scrambled eggs with scallops and melba toast which were divine on the Terrace with a glass of local white wine. I followed that with some locally caught fish cooked in the Gallega style (slow baked with tomatoes). I was unable to return this last time but some friends left me in Oviedo and continued to the Costa del Muerte including this place. They were not disappointed!

In O Pazo Steakhouse, the Scala Group takes a leap towards the world of more sophisticated cuisine: a more rigorous and demanding restaurant style in which the Vidal brothers, one in the kitchen and the other in the dining room, use all of their training to please those clients who want to raise the bar in the restaurant trade, which runs through the brothers' veins thanks to their family tradition. Come and try our dishes and our grilled specialities. PLEASE, BOOK YOUR TABLE IN ADVANCE
Lunch with the locals. Picked of the Menu del Dia choices. Food was tasty and cooked to perfection. House wine was good and the natilla (custard) to die for.

Not pretentious, not stuffy just top quality and good value.
This is a bar, a restaurant for workers and a top destination for steak lovers. I shared a chuleton weighing in at 1.4kg with a friend. The animal had spent the last two years of its life at a farm owned by the same family that run the restaurant. It had been hung for 45 days by people who understand how to judge the hanging time for each piece of meat. It was then cookedat the table by the owner. His professionalism and knowledge are way beyond his 35 years. The wine selection, housed in a air conditioned glass-fronted store room, is extensive and covers a wide range.
All in all a place that you could easily miss, but if you are in the area do not miss it!

The food and people are always great, whether lunch, dinner or a quick tapita. It's a little tucked away off the beaten track, but worth it for nice cozy restaurant and bar. Been more times than can count, and never disappoints. Enjoy!!

Walking the Camino with friends. Needed some high-qual food with decent vegetables. This place hit the spot. Lovely people and fabulous food, prepared with passion and love. Outstanding vegetables (best we'd had in 5 weeks of French and Spanish Camino), exquisite croquettes (jamon, cod, squid ink), delectable octopus, and a few other wonderful dishes which were all top notch. Great wine, excellent service, not the usual tourist rubbish at all, despite being ON the Camino near the centre of town. Highly recommended.

Organic food, home-grown, farm eels and farm
Pleasantly surprised by this new restaurant (or, as better described “experience”)… O Balado is certainly secluded but it brings back to the table what is really important: good produce, carefully treated ingredients, passion, serenity, calmness … It can properly be defined as a restaurant serving “slow food”, sharing “slow times”… Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful food, simple and unpretentious. Our lunch “Unha Viaxe polo Balado” started with smoked cured salmon at the lareira… It was certainly sublime. The cheese, homemade, had the right smoky flavor (the 80/20 combination made it strong but subtle). Divine. The calamari croquettes were amazing, soft, velvety. So was the homegrown tomato with cheese… The anguia was nice and strong, a peculiar flavor that some will favor. The meat perfectly presented. The desserts were amazing, introducing the right degree of freshness after a strong meal. All in all I would strongly recommend this place, for the whole experience. Cannot wait to return during the winter and enjoy the coziness of that lareira… Certainly beautiful place with marvelous food. Thank you Marta e Roberto, we will be back!

As a Chef with 26 years of experience to find the best burger in the world in the middle of Galicia was a shock , went there by accident and now I can't sleep because I don't know when and if I will be able to have another one. I had the Duende burger which is with foie Gras, pistachios and a reduction of Pedro Jimenez sweet wine, this is madness and when you eat it, you will never be able to eat another burger again and enjoy it, I hate you guys.
