Considering the caliber of food in other inside-the-wall restaurants in Avignon, this one earns its recommendations. While food is very tasty, there are multiple reasons not to award 5 stars. Most important, the night we were there, it was crowded yet there was only a single food server, who also handled the hosting and cash register. That meant waiting a very long time for water, bread, or even a menu. Poor lone guy was overwhelmed but we were hungry. The reviewer who mentioned the sag in the chairs is correct--they were seriously dysfunctional, making for difficulty getting comfortable. But, as I say, the food relative to other restaurants there was generous in portion, very tasty and well priced. We tried to return around 8 p.m. with friends a few nights later, and we were sorry we didn't heed advice to make a reservation. We were turned away; that night, it seemed they had 2 food servers, still too few to turn over tables efficiently. If you're in Avignon for a few nights, this is a good bet; plan ahead and call for reservation. Don't go too hungry as there may be a wait for food!

We had dinner at Le Cedre this summer when visiting Avignon. We had not been there before and did not know what to expect. We chose this restaurant because it was the only Lebanese restaurant close to our hotel. We were seated at the table outside promptly and were given sufficient time to study the wide variety of dishes the place offers. The menu is rich with variety of Mezza, both vegetarian and containing various kind of meats. Additionally, there are different Kebobs and other Lebanese cuisines as well as delicious desserts. The restaurant also offers gluten free dishes. I chose a vegetarian Meza dish while my wife had a Meza containing chicken. By the time we ordered our food, most of the table outside were filled with customers with previous reservation. It looked like this restaurant is quite popular with locals. We were quite surprised when We got our food. Each dish was enough to feed at least two persons. Both orders were well prepared and delicious. Needless to say, we could not eat the entire food and since we were staying in a hotel and did not have access to a kitchen, we could not take the leftover. The service was above average considering how crowded the restaurant was. We did have soft drinks but the restaurant also serves variety of wines and beers. We recommend this restaurant highly. The only negative point was the noise. The tables were close to a street with moderate traffic. We would visit this place again when we return to Avignon.

So nice to find this little restaurant in the main square, sitting amongst endless burger and pizza places. Like another reviewer we were also wary of what we might find. We went upstairs and were served by a friendly waitress. Very pleasant food; a great change from the usual cuisine. Reasonable price.Would definitely recommend if you are looking for something different.
