Let me be clear, I did enjoy the dinner and there’s a lot to recommend here, from the lovely room (and even better terrace) to excellent service and beautifully presented dishes. However, I do wonder if doing three dishes of one ingredient (oyster, langoustine etc) for a tasting menu is, while being incredibly technical, a bit too advances for mortals like me, who are more traditional (starter, fish, meal, dessert)? Of the three langoustine dishes, the second and third were genuinely excellent, the first however was a little dull, relying entirely on the fresh, slightly sweet raw langoustine to be the centre of attention. Still, I did enjoy the evening and I can understand why the chef is so highly rated. Dear LewieLewieLewie,Thank you for your comments about your recent experience at La Palme d'Or, which we shared with Christian Sinicropi and his teams, who indeed enjoy to transform a unique ingredient in various forms and tastes, but always in a simple but original way. We dully noted your remark on the langoustine and we shared it with the Chef.We all look forward to your next visit at la Palme d'Or.Warm regards,Ludovic SimonDirector of Food & Beverage

A bit off the Cannes tourist trail, we found this Vietnamese/Asian place. Friendly reception and an easy cardboard menue made it easy to choose.Good papaya salad, the beef Pandang (?) was very good. Tasty! A bit Indonesian. Sweet and delicious. The salad complementing the pork was tangy and with the lovely taste and smell of coriander.Asian food is tricky in France..Chili is a no no!

This is a new restaurant in Cannes based on the Croisette but at the opposite end to the Palais. It’s truly Italian in all aspects, specializing in dishes from Puglia. The interior is beautiful, with a striking bar area. The black and white tables are modern. The evening started well with a very generous sized glass of Laurent Perrier which was chilled to perfection. It’s so disappointing in restaurants to order champagne then receive poxy, small glasses that are gone in one gulp. These glasses lasted right through our starter and were really appreciated. There is a wide selection of Italian food delights on the menu, lovely bread and the starter of bresaola was really nice, and a big portion. The home made raviolis are good, made to a high standard.... a smaller sized portion though...could have eaten double of this course. The swordfish was not a hit at all... it was dry, tasteless and didn’t really work with the sauce. We told the waiter and he said it wasn’t a favourite of his either. The dessert was just ok....a lemon dessert from their local region. The chocolate served at the end of the meal was a nice touch...needed abit more bite, as it’s lacked depth for my taste, but it’s a nice gesture to end the evening. Our waiter kind of deserted us at the end of the evening, at the beginning he was charming and around us a lot...that tapered off and he was more interested in making three drinks than checking how our evening was going. The hostess is kind of odd...not really sure what her role is...as she doesn’t really welcome people or assist in seating them, she just seems to sit on a stool near the doorway all evening? So all in all, I really wish this restaurant alot of success as they have tried hard and it could be a little gem... they need to 100% focus on their customers and also make some menu tweaks... well done again for the champagne...I would return just for that! Good luck..
