This unprepossessing looking Italian restaurant serves superb 'fait à la maison' Italian cuisine at a completely different level to the ordinary appearance of the restaurant. We were searching for a restaurant that was within 10 minutes drive of the airport to enjoy a lunch with friends before they returned to the UK.Not only is there a large car park within 400m of the restaurant but the food is absolutely superb. On our reconnaissance visit we enjoyed a superbly marinated carpaccio of salmon and an absolutely delicious tartare of shrimps and scallops. The restaurant is also open on Sunday where we came back with our friends and enjoyed one of the dishes of the day , grilled enormous gambas prawns served with linguine and fresh clams in their shells Absolutely delicious with a delightful Rosé wine to accompany it.4 main courses, 4 desserts, 1 bottle of Rosé and 4 coffees for â¬123. Excellent value and superb food.Worth coming out of Nice on bus 52 to Jean-Medicin in St Laurent du Var for lunch! English is comprehended and spoken by the waiter, as well as French and obviously Italian!

Fortunatley we came across this little charming little pizzeria on our 2nd day. It was well off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit during your time in Nice. We were greeted by their friendly staff and seated outside in their lovely garden area. There was a large variety of different pizzas to choose from all at affordable prices. We had a pizza each, desserts and a bottle of wine between us and the bill came to â¬40 (very cheap for Nice) and all the food was delicious might i add. They also gave us a shot of orange liquer each just before we left- on the house. 10/10

Italian restaurant in Cagnes sur Mer offering typical Italian dishes as well as pizzas straight from the oven, prepared by a chef from Sicily. Outdoor terrace with a sea view and public parking just 10 meters behind the restaurant.
Having read online reviews, we were somewhat disappointed with dinner here. The restaurant itself is attractive & there was a good vibe in the busy room. Menu content sounded promising; we ordered starters to share - portions were huge nonetheless & beyond finishing. The pasta was properly al dente but rather stodgy. Mains were equally generous; we ate veal & squid dishes which were good but unspecial. In an area where delicious ice-cream is widely made, we thought it almost unforgivable that there was nothing better on offer than carte d'or, 3 flavours of which we ordered, turned out to be unavailable. Service was erratic, lacking in charm. We certainly wouldn't rush back in preference to trying another of the many other local options.

We visited for dinner the other night. Despite not having a reservation we were able to sit at a nice table outside after a warm friendly welcome. All the food was excellent, freshly prepared to order with good quality ingredients and nicely presented. I had the vea with ham & cheese, my wife the tagliata de boeuf- both highly recommended. This was the first time we had been to Pourquoi Pas but it will not be the last, Why not!PaulBLivthanks a lot for your nice feedback about your stay in our restaurant. We really enjoy your visit.pourquoi pas

We like this resto because of the nice atmosphere. The food is ok, a ok price /value, but it's just an easy place to drop by. The singing owner is charming, but can sometime be very 'load' also :) Very popular by the neighbours nearby.

Excellent little place if you want to have a French/Mediterranean bistro experience. We had a great night in le Pointu from the top nocht service, to the environment and decor which are amazing. Whether you're eating inside, where the atmosphere and decoration are just fantastic, or outside facing the beautiful Mediterranean sea you'll find what you're looking for.The cuisine, which is delicious has a simple and tasteful twist which makes the experience amazingly enjoyable. The staff from the chef, to the waiters are incredibly nice and making sure that you have a delightful meal.If you're around and looking for a simple yet pleasing dish just pop in and you won't be disappointed.

Came for a friends birthday and was rather excited.Left feeling a little deflated. The Camembert was delicious but after that nothing tasted fresh.Gnocchi was just ok.Friends beef looked really greasy. We made the best of it and got drunk. Food always looks better when alcohol involved. Won't return.
