Situated just behind the old port of Nice, JAN is a small restaurant that welcomes locals as well as visitors from all over the world. JAN being from South Africa adds a touch of South African heritage both on the menu and the wine list. We welcome you to
We had an incredible dinner at JAN while spending a short three days in Nice. We booked about a month in advance and our excitement to dine here was met with creative, inventive and unique courses, course after course after course. We choose the seven course tasting menu with wine pairings and were delightfully impressed. After dinner, Jan himself showed my husband and me his beautiful restaurant, Maria by JAN across the street, a tribute to his grandmother who recently passed which would be an amazing place for a special private dinner party location. My only suggestion would be to scale down the portion sizes as there was so much food that it was difficult to fully enjoy the last couple of delightful plates placed in front of us.

We ate lunch here on a trip to the beautiful Villefranche-Sur-Mer and were not disappointed. We had the three course set menu including escargots. First time trying these and they were delicious, followed by fish and a yogurt based desert. Everything tasted fresh and home made. The service provided by the two ladies who assume run the restaurant was friendly and relaxing. Highly recommend

We visited Le Serre twice during this holiday, and weâd been looking forward to it since last summer when we visited last. The setting is perfect; nestled in a narrow alleyway underneath Persian archways, at the foot of a grand church, with towering ancient apartment blocks on either side, the restaurant sits about halfway up the hill of the old town. The service, as always, was excellent, from the same two young ladies who seem to have been there for years, and who always pride themselves on customer service and experience. There were four of us, and weâve found that due to itâs popularity itâs best to book a table for about 45 minutes later, then go for a drink in one of the many bars availableIn Villefranche-sur-Mer. My partner and I chose the Daube Nicoise et Raviolis, the best meal out weâve ever had; the braised beef melts in the mouth and the spinach and ricotta raviolis compliment perfectly. Our 18 year old and her partner chose the steak in mushroom sauce and all four us enjoyed a pitcher of the house white; crisp, cold, and delicious.I love their creme brûlée, and my partner and the youngsters had the coconut flan special which they couldnât get enough of. All incredibly reasonably priced and an absolute must if youâre visiting Villefranche!

A simple, relaxed and restful place, a place of relaxation and tasting of organic wines and specialities of the house such as Sandwiches, Mediterranean fresh products prepared at the moment, and tastings of cheeses and Italian delicatessen !!!!
Picked this restaurant after searching for relevant dietary requirements and having a browse through pictures and reviews on here.Safe to say, we were NOT disappointed.I booked through facebook which was easy and mentioned my requirements at the time.I'm glad we did book as it appeared we took the last table available for that sitting! The service was amazing, and the food was better than we could have imagined.Fresh, vibrant and full of flavour, we were left feeling VERY satisfied on the last night of our holiday.Honestly could not have picked a better restaurant.

situé dans la rue obscure , petite rue voûtée classée aux monuments historique. Sandrine et Béatrice vous y accueil tous les soirs sauf le lundi , cuisine créative maison et produits frais.
We had the Camembert and goats cheese, duck and sea bass, and creme caramel and panna cotta. All starters and mains had some plus points (nicely done duck and excellent filo pastry around goats cheese) and some negative points (goats cheese salad was tasteless, sea bass was made heavy by ill-chosen accompaniments), but both desserts were poor - creme caramel had the texture of scrambled eggs and panna cotta was grainy and had split at the bottom. We were left disappointed given its high rating on Trip Advisor, and its prices.

Lovely restaurant situated in a shaded courtyard. The place was very busy but we were found a table very quickly. The menu is not extensive which we like. My choice of starter was sadly finished but undeterred the chef made me something else just as delicious. The rest of the meal was also very delicious. The two waiters worked so hard running in and out with plates and glasses and bottles. It was amazing and all done with a smile. This is a super restaurant and we would certainly recommend it.

Both the food and service at this restaurant was nothing short of terrible. After having been kept waiting to be seated, we eventually received menus after 45 minutes. We had to ask for olive oil for our bread - but were then given no dish or plates to put it on. The plate of local starters was nothing short of disappointing. Three of our main courses arrived an hour and half after our arrival and were cold; the other two members of my family had to wait a further 15 minutes before their main courses arrived. The food itself was distinctly disappointing and overpriced. There is far better food and value to be had in Villefrance. Avoid.

Since April 2017 the establishment has been taken over by new owners, a young husband and wife team, Manuel and Tamara Dupont. Bringing with them years of experience in some of the best restaurants both in France and internationally, they are delighted to
Poor sea conditions at Monaco anchorage dictated our cruise ship moor in Villefranche-sur-Mer instead. I immediately made reservation for La Belle Etoile based on TA ranking. Good thing I did not hesitate as restaurant was fully occupied on a quiet Monday evening. We enjoyed one of our best meals in France. Tamaraâs warm and gracious welcome made us feel like we were visiting her home.
We came here for a lovely romantic dinner and it was exceptional. Great atmosphere, fresh ingredients and excellent friendly service. Highly recommended!!Thanks

Suspended somewhere between the sky and the sea, the roof-terrace at the ASTON LA SCALA HOTEL is home to the Moon Bar. The three things the Moon Bar's Terrace promises: sunshine, a light cuisine and relaxation. The terrace, the swimming pool and the bar a
great live jazz singer singing as we arrived and had drinks. The tables had one light that dimly lit the table so we used our iphones to read the drinks menu. Tables and general tidiness of the terrace were not as the pictures showed. it needs some tlc. Staff friendly enough and drinks not expensive.
