This is a small bistrot in central Nice serving a menu which changes daily.The food is freshly prepared on the premises and extremely good value for the price.Part of the joy of the food is that it is simple food, beautifully prepared in a tiny kitchen. Most of the customers seemed to be local regulars, a strong recommendation for any restaurant.The decor was traditional bistro style, and very attractive.Starters, mains and puddings are all individually priced but at weekday lunchtimes 2 courses are 18⬠and 3 are 24â¬.We had a fig and feta tartine, delicious, followed by beef carpaccio with Roquefort and walnuts and pork loin in a rose mustard sauce with roasted vegetables. For pudding we had red fruits and a creme caramel, the latter accompanied by a financier, an excellent addition. Everything was very well cooked and presented.The owners were very friendly.For a full menu choice go early as once a dish is sold out it's sold out!A final mention for the homemade peach and mint iced tea, it was perfect.

This lovely cafe offers excellent food, friendly service and is a great value. The sea bass was perfectly prepared and the pork ribs were tender and flavorful. The menu is presented on iPad, and written phonetically, which makes for a very unique experience. The server provides assistance if needed. The café gourmand featured delicious chocolate moose along with a tasty portion of creme brûlée. They are also child friendly.

Fantastic little gem. Stopped in for a quick lunch before a day of adventuring. Owner is lovely, food is equally as good. And so cheap! 2 of the deluxe burgers, fries and drinks for 19 euro. Burgers were excellent, fries and sauces wonderful. Service is genuinely friendly. Ps the 2 reviews that gave 1 star both appear to be fake. Ignore those. This is 5 star considering price point for quality!

Very nice and cosy restaurant, with the most friendly personnel I have ever met! The food has a lot of taste and it is made with a lot of attention, in contrast to the âtourist trapsâ in the city. It is really worth to travel those 3km from the promenade.

We had an incredible dinner at JAN while spending a short three days in Nice. We booked about a month in advance and our excitement to dine here was met with creative, inventive and unique courses, course after course after course. We choose the seven course tasting menu with wine pairings and were delightfully impressed. After dinner, Jan himself showed my husband and me his beautiful restaurant, Maria by JAN across the street, a tribute to his grandmother who recently passed which would be an amazing place for a special private dinner party location. My only suggestion would be to scale down the portion sizes as there was so much food that it was difficult to fully enjoy the last couple of delightful plates placed in front of us.

Having done a bit of research on Tripadvisor before visiting Nice, we decided to give King Marcel a go and we are very pleased we did.The restaurant is on the busy Cours Saleya and is in a very convenient location. Having check the menu, we both decided to go for the "Marcel Jackson" meal. It arrived quickly and was great with beef, cheese, onion, bacon and a barbecue sauce with a side of double fried chips and a drink, all for â¬14 each.It was so good in fact we went back on another day just to make sure, and it was just as good second time around!We would like to thank you for your nice review about King Marcel. We had only one night in Nice and we wanted a special place for dinner. We went here based on the reviews that are posted and we were not disappointed. Yes the place is small, yes the decor is plan, yes the menu is limited, and YES THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC!Camille is the owner, chef, waitress, and bus person. She does it all with a gracious ease that is outstanding to witness. We were the only people at the restaurant when we arrived and Camille was at the front counter/ Kitchen doing prep work. After a brief conversation (do to my lack of French and Camilleâs limited English) we ordered only saying 2 words FEED US. Camille asked if there was anything that we did not like and proceed to prepare and serve one of the best meals that I have ever had (see pics). The price for this meal was a fantastic bargain to the point that I asked Camille if see had charged us for everything. Bottom line if you are Nice you will be doing yourself a great disservice if you do not eat here .

A place to go for plant based food. I was over a weekend in Nice and tried several vegan restaurants. This one had super friendly service, cozy ambient and very nice food. Iâm vegan and loved food they cooked. Fair pricing and fresh food from regional sources.

How often do we get to enjoy a dining experience so good, not because it's the fanciest or has prestigious awards, but because the food was made with with loving care, with the best ingredients, from tried and true recipes past on by generations. You can tell that the couple that runs this little restaurant really enjoys what they do. It shows in how they interact with their guests, in how they present the entrees and in how wonderfully, delightfully succulent those entrees are. I ate way more than I should have, but I couldn't help myself. We had the lamb and the duck special (they'll tell you which one) and we enjoyed them to the last morsel.
