This place is like all the others on the waterfront Malecon in Progreso - same service, same view, same menu, with the exception of Crabster which has upped the ante for both service and creativity in the food area.
You will find the usual selections of seafood cocktails (cocteles), cold beer and fish dishes, some with creamy sauces that I would not recommend at all. It is an OK place to hang out and have a meal, but you won't be blown away by any of it.
Be aware that some Progreso restaurants serve up two menus especially on cruise ship days: one for gringos with 'special' prices and another for locals. Not sure if Flamingos does this or not, but being aware is not a bad thing.

We ate there last night for a special occasion....very pleased with this restaurant. I had fresh linguine in an Alfredo white cream sauce smothered in shrimp prepared just right......excellent. My wife had a fetechini with shrimp in herbs prepared just right.......excellent. I cannot believe some of the negative reviews that I read......I guess they were thinking of another restaurant. We did not want wine so we asked for cervesa which was not on the menu.......they had 4 to choose from for only 30 pesos each. We will definitely be back. Specials on the chalk board are pricey but sound very good. The regular menu offers a variety of entrees available. Good service. Note.....a tip is already included in the bill.

Friendly people from the workers to the customers. Great margaritas! Good food. Francisco is a great man, the owner. Ciro, David and the other waiters are awesome. This is my go to place. I like to go here on days the cruise ship is in port and sit and people watch. Luv Barlovento

We ate there last night, January 20, 2018. The food was outstanding! If you order there, order fairly light. They bring you a bunch of free stuff before your meal - tacos, tamales, chips, etc... Two grandchildren, two chiden and two grandparents had a wonderful lunch at Sol y Mar. Good prices, good food for all ages and good waiters and management. We will be back.

It‘s a wood fired pizza oven outside a colorful breezy welcoming dining space just off the main Churburna/Chelem highway on the Yucatán coast. Wow. Who would have guessed? Also serve pasta, lasagna, different salads (both dinner size and side salads), desserts. No alcohol. Owner is attentive and obviously wants you to be happy. If you don’t have phone service in Mexico, just text for Reservations through FB. Local artists (including the owner) display art next door. Go.

We recently purchased a condo in the Yucatan and Mala Ka is our preferred restaurant in the Progresso area. Both Rene and Luis are awesome. The food is great and the pool is a hidden secret. Thank you Rene for the great service, look forward to seeing you again soon

The ensalada cabra is excellent as usual and the chaya drink is very refreshing. Menu has been changed along with special offers but still feels cozy and welcoming.

My wife, sister in law and I dropped into Milk Bar and were so delighted with our meals. Beer battered fish and chips as well as garlic shrimp. Fresh and tasty and such quantity as well. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Progresso. Family run restaurant that take pride in fresh ingredients for all their clients. Wow.

We serve appetizers and dinners by the plate. The menu changes on a weekly basis, with dishes from many different parts of India. We serve both meat and vegetarian dishes. Many dishes are appropriate for vegans, people with gluten intolerance as well as Celiac. We are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:30pm to 9pm.

The superlatives can’t come fast enough to adequately describe the superb meal we had here this evening. Proprietor Jacque and chef Alberto go above and beyond to prepare and serve authentic food with efficiency and good natured grace. A meal of such exacting standards would easily cost twice as much elsewhere. That it’s in the laid back comfort and welcoming environment of Progreso makes it so much more rewarding.
