While driving cross country we came through Prince Albert. I had a 1999 Lonely Planet, which had Amy's on Second listed. We stopped in between the lunch and dinner hours. They were not really open but offered us a limited menu. A comfortable dining area surrounded by art from local artists, some for sale. Of course we enjoyed the excellent wild rice soup! We could see why it has been a staple on Amy's menu for many years! As the only diners at that time we had great service and were able to get some travel advice from Amy and her staff. Hopefully next time in P.A. we will be able to choose from the very interesting menu.

Thats what I was told and had no reason to disagree. Great fries and gravy! Also told they have the best cream pies (okay I thought I'd try a banana cream...mmmm....I still remember the taste) and their chinese food is good too. The restaurant and same owners have been around forever, and it looks it, so not much ambience, but good food.

Who would think of going to a "coffee and dessert" bar for a full dinner? Never would have found this place but for my local hosts who took us there. But, Shananigan's has a surprisingly complete dinner menu, with options like bison lasagna, pork tenderloin, shrimp skewers, and butter chicken. In our group of 7, all meals were rated as good to very good. The place has a totally laid back vibe, where you self-order at the counter. Of course, being what it is, the dessert selection is incredible and delicious. Definitely recommended.

Locally owned coffee house with in house roasted coffee a made to order food menu fresh baked desserts, drive thru, free wifi, great service
My niece visited from Alberta this summer and we went to Dr. Java's for lunch. We both had a wrap and salad. Everything was fresh and tasty. I actually took home half my wrap as it was a large salad and one half was all I could eat At the time. Coffee was fresh. On our way out the owner was preparing coffee beans to roast and took the time to answers questions my niece had as she has always been inquisitive. Will visit again.

Have visited many time and have never had a bad meal. Ask for the shrimp tom yum noodle soup extra spicy.

Ate here with friends on a warm summer evening. Nice that they had table umbrellas when it started to spit.
The menu was priced as a top tier, but my steak was a grizzly old nag of a beast. Not impressed with their "sterling silver" sirloins. I can make a better one at home.
