Reviews on Contemporary food in Algarve, Portugal. The Algarve's sunny shores offer perfect escapes for all types, from those seeking the hot nightlife of flashy, energetic Lagos to those desiring secluded stays in rambling Sagres. Portugal's most southerly region offers historical attractions in former Moorish capital Silves and fascinating Tavira, great golf, fabulous beaches from Praia da Luz to Armacao de Pera, thermal springs at Caldas de Monchique, and miles of limestone caves and grottoes, cliffs and bays along its rugged coastline.

the house of the torch, was born at the beginning of the 20th century. In its beginning was a church, where the women before they got pregnant came asking for the blessing and light a candle. In the mid-1950s it became a grocery store, where wine was sold
In a back street and not easy to find but a beautiful interior with a wall full of wine bottles. Service good, waitress very pleasant, waiter not so.Glass of wine was light with a distinctive flavour.Main course seared tuna was a little overcooked and in too much oil.My wife's sea bream was excellent, great for a vegetarian.Cosy place well worth a visit. thank you very muchWe look forward to serving you soon.

Ocean Restaurant is VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa's fine dining signature restaurant, established in the southernmost region of Portugal, the Algarve. Austrian Executive Chef Hans Neuner - named Portugal's Chef of the Year 2009 & 2012 - and his team have be
Since 25 years, the Algarve always offered you the possibility of enjoying very fine dining with Vila Joya, and now, you can definitely add a "new" name to the list: The Oceano.Small, trendy-lounge looking restaurant, with a very pure and simple deco-take on the theme of the ocean, the whole thing gets together through the amazing view you have on Armação de Pera.I must admit that I have always had reservations on trendy Michelin-star restaurants, preferring the more classical, yet creative approaches of places like Vila Joya, but the Oceano, without being totally comparable is really something special:Yes, you get "les surprises du Chef" (a number of 9 "moments" in four servings), as seems to be the widespread concept in the algarvian fine dining tradition (thanks again to Vila Joya!).Yes, all dishes are of the finest kind, creative, well presented and well served, a well regulated ballet that literally transports you through a very fine dining experience. We chose the wine pairing with the menu, and there lied the surprise. With some dishes, the pairing was so well thought through, that the wine was literally part of the dish, something that I had never so intensly felt before. All in all, another exceptional restaurant in the Algarve, that in my mind, like its competitor Vila Joya deserve a third star very soon. The usual caveat is that prices are very steep, so the bill is not for the faint of heart, but worth every penny spent, If you like fine dining and are sensitive to local portuguese tastes, you cannot miss this restaurant.Special mention for the perfect service as well, not always obvious in Portugal.

Small little restaurant with really, really good burgers and wraps! We haven eaten here with our kids and although thereâs no childrens menu, there was enough choice for them as well. The burgers and wraps are genuinely delicious! Really a good recommendation, would certainly consider eating here again!
