A tiny place in a small traditional alentejo village with the best local food and excellent service. Casual dining outside or inside, very friendly staff and not expensive. We had goat's fresh cheese with ripe tomatoes and basil in balsamic vinegar (I wish we had asked for two), beef and lagartos de porco with homemade chocolate mousse as desert! Yum!!

O serão, o pitéu e a pinga! / The evening, the tapas and the drinks! The place to experience good food (traditional and not) and good wine (from north to south of Portugal) Reservas apenas online. Online reservations only.
Every dish is wonderful and extremely well priced. We loved it so much we went back again 3 days later. You will experience flavours you have never had before. Iâm not a foodie but this stuff is good. $5-8 euros for most of the share plates. 3 dishes and a bottle of wine about $40 euros. Very reasonable. This guy should be on one of those Master Chef shows. Heâs a genius with food.

Having read the reviews for this popular restaurant we got there at 1215hrs on Saturday and got the last table available. The service is very good with very friendly waiters one of whom speaks a little English. The menu is extensive [with some Englush interpretations] with a very good selection of mains and even desserts. We ordered a "1/2 dose" and found this was a very generous portion for one. There is a wide selection of typical rural Portuguese food on the menu including the ever-popular bacalhau [salt cod] and various stews, the black pork is very good. As with most Portuguese food the presentation is non-existant, there is no finesse and you get chips and rice on the same plate as accompaniments to meat, it is because of this that I have not given 5 stars. However this is a great restaurant, which I will go to again because of the varied menu, the pleasant staff and even the complimentary liquors with coffee.

Peço especial favor que a localização da Taberna do Adro deixe de se visualizar em Portalegre mas sim em Elvas 7350-511 Portugal, onde na realidade existe. Esta má informação está a causar grandes inconvenientes ao funcionamento do restaurante. O restante
This very small traditional restaurant in a nearby Elvas location, named Vila Francisco, offers an excellent menu, with traditional cuisine, served with extreme care in a cozy familiar environment. The family who runs the business is most friendly. It is worth every mile to get there.

Our meal at Cafe Havanessa was outstanding in every respect. The food prepared by Florbella was out of this world and was beautifully presented and accompanied by the best Vinho Verde we have ever had. The service was friendly, welcoming and fantastic, and the decor quirky and tasteful. This place is a real find and is a credit to Florbella, who used to be an architect and has now turned her creative passion to the kitchen.

Arrive hungry, donât even consider breakfast, have one coffee and a litre of water then prepare yourself for a feast. You MUST book, whilst sitting in the restaurant they turned about 10 people away because they were full. The food just comes at you, no choice, which, sometimes is a blessing, it was all great, it was all unsophisticated but all delicious, the green sludgy looking thing Is not to be missed, amazing, made with Coriander, garlic, bread, vegetables olive oil and a bit of vinegar, the neck of black pork, cooked for 3 hours in wine and herbs fell off the bone and was scrumptious. To start, a compendium of local tastes that include what can only be described as a mini Swiss fondue (I could have eaten just that to be honest). Jao who runs the place is utterly charming and will look after you. This ainât fine dining in the biblical sense but you must go here.

No booking possible, the first arrived will be the lucky ones. Such therefore means you need to get there at least 30 minutes before restaurant opens.Once in, you'll have a pleasant moment, having nice dishes from Alentejo mostly about meat; probably discussing with few other customers surrounding you. That said, experience was very good but not amazing given food which was not reaching sky and prices remaining rather high.
