We went to this restaurant with the thought of eating here, but never got beyond our first drinks due to the appalling attitude of the waiters and the dreadful caipirinhas. We were served by two different waiters both of whom appeared completely disinterested to the point of rudeness - totally unwilling to interact with us (and we do speak reasonable Portuguese) - and the caipirinhas had more in common with sugared water than a proper caipirinha. Any thoughts of eating here quickly evaporated. Avoid!

We had a very good time at Cacau. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was excellent. The waitress suggested a mix of appetizer and it was delicious. Then we had "moqueca" which was so fresh and well done. We definitely would go there again.

UXUA's kitchens offer Bahian cooking with a very regional emphasis, and presented with the same joy and pride which food is served in any local home. Ingredients include produce from UXUA's own garden and other organic farms of Trancoso, as well as the fr
We stayed at Uxua and dined at the restaurant one night, and then also did a cooking class to learn how to make (and then dined on) the moqueca a different night. Food was excellent - in particular the prawns in spice was delicious, as was the ceviche. And the moqueca was very good - also a lot of good so definitely recommend sharing. Atmosphere is beautiful - sat outside looking upon the quadrango under the lanterns of a big tree with local musicians playing live music. Service is attentive and speaks English well. Highly recommend!

Local privilegiado em meio a natureza, requinte e simplicidade no coração de Trancoso.
Having observed for four nights in a row that this place was by far the most popular place in the Quadrado area although low season, we imagined that to be testament to its quality. After waiting for a table to come available, mostly outside, street side. Very accessible prices, quite rare for restaurants in this area of Trancoso. House wines (red, white & rosé) for BRL 75 a bottle. Dishes between BRL 40-85. We had the mixed seafood platter, the shrimps VG, shrimp risotto, and spaghetti bolognese. All very good food, prepared simply delicious without much fuss. When paying the bill, I could see that they managed to produce magic in a small, 2 staff kitchen that was very clean and organised. Highly recommended for informal dinner & drinks.

They have different dishes as guaiamum (big local kreb), sururu soup (a sort of small crustacean)...but the prices are a little bit higher...try to handle

Come and meet the locals and meet the wonderful owner and staff who run this place. Very fresh cervice and fish stews etc all cooked Peruvian style through the open kitchen.Very local cooking, local ambience away from the Quadrado.Good pricing, well worth walking the few extra meters from the main action areas.

Interesting and unusual combinations in the worlds largest sandwich (go hungry) - worth sharing a few between you to sample the excellent selection. Lively atmosphere, good drinks and friendly(ish) staff, but above all very good value for what you get. Not to be missed in amongst all the overpriced food joints in already expensive Trancoso.

Giving this restaurant a 3 star rating would be too harsh, while 5 stars would be too generous. Given the very high price level I evaluate them at such high-end level. The food and service are good, but most are not memorable. The Asian based âcamarões ensopadosâ, a shrimp curry is nice, but a flat taste, not spicy at all. The filet mignon and fish & shrimp dish just nice. Excellent was the dessert pavlova with maracujá. The house made ice cream sampler and zuccotto just nice. The four of us had no starters, just 4 main dishes, 4 desserts, 4 soft drinks and one bottle of one of the cheaper wines (BRL 135) made a bill of 718, without the 10% service charge that I was asked, if satisfied, to pay separately (?). So expect at least BRL 150-200 per person. Although relatively small 4 x BRL 11 = 44, we were surcharged for live music. Serious? Since this is the restaurantâs own decision, I think that such a surprise is rather cheap and disrespectful of your clients, especially if you already charge expensively for your food and drinks. For about 20% less we had a more memorable dinner at nearby Jacaré do Brasil. So all in all disappointed having expected much more for such a high price level.

Villas de Trancoso Restaurant. Located on Nativos Beach, one of the most private stretches of beach in Trancoso, is the Villas de Trancoso Restaurant. Outside guests can make a reservation for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The Villa's day begins at 8:00 am
Quality excellent, fresh and made to order. The chef and staff were charming and attentive. They will create american dishes such as a twice baked potato with cheese and bacon - the most delicious I have ever had!

We stopped by for an early dinner and the entire family running the kitchen and bar greeted us and spent time with us as we ate and drank. Truly a wonderful experience. The food is basic but everything we had was very good. Can't beat the prices and the service. Would definitely return here.
