Our expectations were high for this place as it came highly recommended but we had a mix experience. We had some vegetarian burger for starter they came to light only when we add the right amount of Olive Oil and Balsamic, for main i took a steak that was absolutely perfect but the vegetable again were not as they could have been so overall we were disappointed but this remains a good place outside the main city restaurants

Went for dinner and was unimpressed. Having waited for the waiter to run to another restaurant to find a bottle opener....(why would you not have your own bottle opener in a restaurant???) we then waited another 45 mins for our food to arrive, on a Tuesday evening when they were not even so busy. Food not what we ordered but we were so hungry we accepted it in any case. Food was good however, no complaints about the actual food or drink, just the service which was dreadful. I hadn't quite finished my food and was mid conversation when the owner came and took my plate out from under me before I could say anything. That, followed by wrong coffee order and coffee being served before we had chance to finish our wine, we also specifically asked to wait for the coffee until we were done with wine so were a bit annoyed by the time we left. Food ok, service not good.

Our dinner was very tasty, well prepared, and fresh. the fish was lovely, service good and the price reasonable. We sat outside on the pavement which was a bit noisy. The sea was nearby but the parked cards obstructed the view. There are tables on a more elevated level , so next time I would book one of those, or inside. We loved the food and the service, so we will return if we get the chance.

"A place suitable for any time!" 5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2015 NEW I always loved the view enjoyed from this place ... But over the location this place offers lots of things, cocktails, aperitifs, lunches, apericene and a choice of dishes to be enjoyed for dinner, from simple platters of cold cuts first courses to a delicious Italian-style sushi (as they say), I suggest you try it anyway exquisite ... Sit back and enjoy the atmosphere ... you'll find yourself spending an evening with food and a bottle of views wine without realizing it and you will go away with a smile ...
Le Dolce Vita is a pavement Bar, in the old part of Porto Santo Stefano, overlooking the old harbor. It comprises of only outside space under large umbrellas, with tables and chairs on the cobble street. The “Bar” is on the opposite side of the street where the drinks and food are prepared.
Traveling with three young children, it is hard, at times, to wait till restaurants open at 7.30 or 8 o’clock. Le Dolce Vita made our great holiday in Porto Santo Stefano even more enjoyable. I, my wife and my 3 children (6, 5 and 12 months) would arrive shortly after opening (approx. 6pm) and sit and enjoy the sun set with a glass of red, rose, white or even Prosecco.
The drinks were always accompanied with a very generous plate of antipasti with meats, cheese's and pesto's. The service was fantastic and always friendly, and the music was brilliant through a iMac and speakers. We went most night’s before dinner and the children loved the antipasti as well as their orange juices.

We'd driven for a couple of hours to reach Monte Argentario, and pulled up at the first place we could park easily, with no expectations at all. You can't really see the restaurant from the road, but go down some steps, and you come to a small (40 cover?) room, which looks out over the little bay. Unsurprisingly, seafood is at the fore. Spaghetti with vongole was perfect, along with swordfish served with tomato caponata and roast potatoes. Our little one had fish and chips - the fish served gloriously unbattered.

Positives: All the food was great - fresh fish brought to the table which you could choose from was a nice touch.
Negatives: Service was poor. Made reservation via email. Walked into an empty restaurant. Told waiter I had reservation in Italian and was told they don't have an email address (there is one on their website). Then he was very reluctant to seat us. I would have walked out at this point, but the weather was terrible outside. It was not a case of being fully booked, there were multiple free tables throughout the evening. The service was slow after this, and we had to ask for the bill three times.

We stumbled across this restaurant while traveling around and I'm so glad we did. The proprietor/chef/host was incredibly kind and accommodating. Our food was delicious and very fresh. Also very plentiful and filling but happy to indulge in the fantastic homemade Limoncello afterwards. It was one of the highlights of the holiday!

Wonderful food served with a smile. Grilled meat, chicken fried in breadcrumbs both served with potatoes two desserts (panna cotta) to die for! Water and half litre of house wine €37.50.

The speciality of the house are very small cakes filled with a variety of fillings. Can't really compare them to anything... Although Pasties di Natas is the only thing I can think of...
Tasted really good.. The lady of the house didn't seem to be in a good mood, and it didn't help when we asked how much... So we just tried anyway... We paid about 12€ for 10 pieces. The are weighed.

This restaurant is unique for its location, directly on the waterfront, facing the harbour and occasionally the big yachts. The food is not pretentious, fair quality and price
