The town that gave the country (and port wine) its very name, Porto is Portugal’s second-largest metropolis after Lisbon. Sometimes called Oporto, it's an age-old city that has one foot firmly in the industrial present. The old town, centered at Ribeira, was built on the hills overlooking the Douro River, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 14th-century São Francisco church is a main attraction, as are the local port wine cellars, mostly located across the river at Vila Nova de Gaia.

Mo house is perfectly situated in the historic centre of Porto. We stayed in room 3 overlooking the Douro River. The room is large and has a small kitchen, bathroom and two small balconies. Breakfasts are full and plentiful and delicious. Diana is a breath of fresh air. She makes time with her guests and although there were a lot of people checking in and out she still made time to talk to everyone. Porto is beautiful and Mo House sits quietly and elegantly in this historic city. I highly recommend a stay here. Thank you Diana and your lovely staff for a perfect three night stay. Ten rooms with river view equiped. All of them with w.c, Tv and air conditioner. This establishment has a restaurant.
The hotel is actually a hostel above the restaurant. The service is friendly and good, but the room is to basic to get the value you payed for. The showercurtain-bar was hanging down which resulted in water around the bathroom. When we left we checked the room for stuff we might have left and under the bed we found a sock from the previous guests. This means that the room or maybe only under the bed itself wasn't cleaned properly. Don't get me wrong, the service was good and the view was amazing, but the room itself was basic. My advice? Go to the restaurant for a great meal, but sleep somewhere else.

Located in Porto’s city centre, just a few meters from the World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Porto Riad Guest House offers its clients an unforgettable and unique experience. Porto Riad is an enchanting and traditional house from the 40s totally renovated in 2009 under the theme of the Orient. Its mission is to provide clients an exotic and inspiring atmosphere. We invite you to share relaxed moments with an aromatic mint tea or a port. "Feel the magic of a Riad and discover the fascinating history of Porto." We are surrounded by the main touristic attractions and historical monuments of Porto, and we emphasize "Bolhao," the market, the Town Hall, Clerigos Church, the stock market and the historical area of Ribeira.
We stayed for 6 nights in a group of 5 during the UEFA Nations League and only cost €100 euros each! Breakfast was included which we never expected and was open til 11am. Unreal ham and cheese sandwiches. Walk down to the square 10 minutes away and 15/20 to the ribiera, €7 taxi if you don’t fancy an uphill walk back. Staff were so friendly, as we only had one key, he kept letting us in the room if we never had a key and if we used the towels he would happily give us fresh ones if we asked. 5/5

If you are into tiny house living, this is the place! Even though small rooms and breakfast area, it is charming, clean and nicely decorated. Excellent location in beautiful Porto. Walking distance to historic center, Duoro River, Metro/tram and the bridge Dom Luis I. Restaurants are right at your doorstep. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

On arrival we were greeted by a staff member, who was polite but a little rushed. They then took us across the road to another building. The room was clean and spacious. However the decor was a little tacky for our liking. Some areas of the room needed attention, the blind was ripped on the sides, hangers were mismatched, most of all the mattress was very uncomfortable. It sagged in the middle.

Braganca Oporto Hotel is in city center near all the principal activities of Porto city.
This hotel is a winner for its location in the heart of the city. It is situated on a side street 500 metres from the Praia de Liberdade where the tour buses start. It is good for shops and cafes, but not the quietest hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel has about 20 rooms over 3 floors. It is not the most modern hotel, and I suppose it needs a bit of updating, but it is spotlessly clean and the beds are fresh and comfortable. It is fair to say that some rooms are “ bijou” with no drawer space and some minimal wardrobe space, but most (all?) have a functioning en suite shower room with lashings of hot water. It should be noted that all rooms are up at least 1 flight of stairs, and there is no lift. Breakfast is provided every day between 07:30 and 09:30. It is the usual continental fare with ham, cheese, bread, jam etc on a very informal help yourself basis. We found the staff to be lovely, very helpful, and some spoke good English. They will hold baggage for you if you are on a late departure. We thought the hotel was good value for money, and the positives far outweighed the negatives. All in all, despite some quirks we would not hesitate to return.

I booked two nights direct with Maria the owner as the room i was offered had become vacant unexpectedly. I was told the previous occupant had paid for 7 nights but had left after 3. After lying in the room for hours listening to the constant booming reverberations and screeching of speeding all-night trucks, cars and motorbikes and not managing to get a minute’s reprieve from the phenomenal noise (despite shutting the window, using silicon earplugs and clutching the pillow over my ears) I understood completely why the previous victims, (sorry, occupants), had abandoned the place in a hurry and forgot about four days’ worth of prepaid rental fees. The owner, smiling Maria, would not entertain a refund despite the fact that a room at the front of her house is not at all fit for the purpose of facilitating a restful night’s sleep.

The rooms,of Residencial D.Duarte Hotel, are spacious, comfortable and quiet,in order to provide those who visit us,all you need for stay.
Big, big minus for lying about the price. We booked a room with them on-line and paid by card. But when we arrived we were asked to pay more. Some extra tax not included. I don't care what taxes and fees you have to pay. When I look for a place I want to see the final price, so I know how much I'll pay for it. So be carefull guys. The room was basic but clean. A small table would be a big improvment. The bathroom floor was always wet. Some leak? The location is not very central. But is quite close. And it's near the bus/train sation. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Villa Bolhao Apartments it is located in a completely renovated building with facade of neoclassical architecture, face in the typical market Bolhao in Oporto considered the true epicenter of the city. With the Metro, direct connection to the airport, Apartamentos Villa Bolhao, are also served by other public transport, such as STCP, making it very easy and convenient to move. In addition to these advantages, the Apartments Villa Bolhao, have all the amenities such as: - Fully equipped kitchen; - Elevator; - Air conditioning; - Internet; - Laundry; - Fully furnished and equipped rooms, including cleaning, supply and washing clothes; - Bathrooms with shower, providing free care products; - Living room with sofa, TV, coffee table and other decorative elements.
We had a horrible experience. Owner double booked our room - apparently she also owns apartments in a different building and strongly believes that it is perfectly fine to move her guests to a different location at the last minute. We wouldn't have minded but in this particular situation, it was important for us to stay in the location of our original booking for different reasons. She doesn't speak English well so the communication about where we will stay and why we are being moved was very confusing, lengthy, and frustrating. Minor issues - 1) It was a very noisy experience. There is a bus stop right in front of the apartment and we were waking up very early with the first bus arriving. Also, the market, which is right in front of the apartment is currently closed for renovation so we were basically staying across from a giant, and very noisy, construction zone (in an apartment with paper thin walls). 2) Our apartment was cleaned during our stay (which we weren't expecting) and this was kind of a disturbing experience - one example - we found the clothes we left on the bed at the corner of the room on the floor.
