Enjoy casual family dining. Great for large groups. No Reservations required. Take out available.
Just your typical pub. The food was typical of pub fare, the atmosphere also typical and very dated. The perch Sandwich was nothing special, the deep fried vegetables were of the frozen variety and included mostly rubbery carrots and just 2 mushrooms and crumbs of broccoli and cauliflower. The service was fine and friendly. They have a great location with great potential decor and furniture needs upgrading and menu needs an overhaul.

We're on a road trip across the Great Lakes and had the chance to spend a couple of days in Port Dover.
While wandering around the quaint but beach oriented downtown I stopped and had a large fry from Arbor's.
Pricey, not bad, but good,, oh yeah!! Best I've ever had and I've had lots of great fries. If I'm ever back in PD I'd make sure to return here!!

Decor is old and tired but they have great views of frozen Lake Erie. This place gets really busy in the summer and the prime spots are those out on the deck.
I have dined at this restaurant a few times and have always ordered either salads or sandwiches. This time, I tried something different and went for the veggie curry. By far, the best veggie curry and basmati I have ever tasted. And the nan bread was also fresh and soft.
My husband had the liver and onions with fries. The liver was done perfectly.
And service is efficient and professional.
Always a good place to eat in Port Dover.

Came to Port Dover to see the sights and try Knechtel's famous River Perch direct from Lake Eerie; the shores of which are not more than 200 yards from the where the catch is cooked!! My brother and I used to catch these feisty fish as a kids river fishing in England (actually my brother & I fished but he did ALL the catching!!). Anyway, ordered the 'Perch Snack' (not too adventurous) at about $13. Snack??? This was a meal, 3 Perch fillets cooked in what appeared to be a light 'Tempura' style batter, fries, slaw, bread roll, butter, large lemon wedge and tartare sauce! Shared with my wife....DEEEELISH ❤ You have GOT to try this fish. Put it on your bucket list.

Since 2011, Schofields has offered Casual Gourmet with a Norfolk Flavour. A recently renovated historical space, art deco inspired with local art work, hardwood floors and a postcard view of downtown Port Dover bring a warm ambiance only matced by the warth of service.
Our family enjoys a group dinner here before Christmas each year. The service is outstanding, the value is high, and the food and drinks are quite good. Some nice beers, including Rambling Road from a nearby town. Interesting wines, including from Burning Kiln from another nearby town. The steak is reliably tasty and done exactly to order. This is a friendly place -- if I lived here, I'd come often.

This is a cute little cafe style restaurant on the main strip. Lovely patio atmosphere, delicious food. I highly recommend the coconut cauliflower soup! Something for everyone! I am vegan and had no trouble finding something great! And my meat-eating companions also enjoyed their meal just as much! Great service, decent prices! I would definitely go back!

Today I treated my spouse to breakfast in the Cove Room for her birthday.
Juliana the waitres was curitious and friendly.
Breakfast was excelent and enjoyable.
The coffee tasted like water taken from the dishwasher to be turned into profit.
When the waitress asked how things were and if we wanted more coffee I mentioned no thanks the coffee tastes like dishwater. She said she would check it. Nothing more was said or done.
The lady at the cash register asked how things were. I again mentioned the coffee tasted like dishwater. Her comment, "o Juliana mentioned that." Nothing more was said or done.
My opinion $3.50 for two cups of fluid from the dishwasher is a great profit, but does nothing for public relations. It would have if the cost was removed from the bill:normal procedure in a good restaurant. Nothing was said or done, not even a sorry.
I will return to this restaurant once a month with group of men to enjoy their fellowship but will definitely decline the dishwasher fluid.

Went in for early dinner at The Crepe House and appreciated the Vegetarian customized options available. Our Server, Trish was fantastic, very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The crepe was tasty but unfortunately had a tiny piece of plastic which left a sour taste in our...MoreWe are so terribly sorry that that happened. We appreciate your feedback and we will explore how that was possible to ensure it never happens again. Cheers and have a nice day. Penny Nunn and Jim Loshaw.
