The Sleeping Lady Private Retreat

Private and secluded 2 bedroom self-contained chalet with spectacular views down the vineyard rows and across the valley to the Stirling Ranges. We are located on the warm northern slopes of the Porongurup Range National Park. Close to Castle Rock Granite Skywalk.

Fabulous!

Reviewed By Winterfrozt

Excellent little cottage located on a vineyard with sprawling estate views with direct views to the Stirling Ranges. Our hosts were fabulous and every little thing was though of. We had fresh baked bread, eggs and milk and the cheese platter was amazing. The electric blankets and wood fire heater were luxurious touches. So much to do around here and this was a great base to explore the region. Look forward to returning soon.

Quiet Farm Stay

Reviewed By paulberkeley255

Found this place ideal for our needs. Stayed in the Carnaby cottage which had every convenience needed for our stay. Beautiful welcome basket of bread, eggs and jams that was delicious and a nice touch. The 2 cottages are reasonably far apart so it's nice and private. Bed was comfortable and had a good night's sleep. Very convenient to Mt Barker and Castle Rock.Would love to stay again when we return to the Porongorups

Delightful 3 night stay in The Dairy cottage.

We stayed in the dairy cottage (#1) for 3 nights. It was delightful, clean, quaint, very comfy bed with lovely garden views & beyond to one of the peaks. We ate 2 nights at the Karri on Bar - delicious pizzas & other meals. Was able to relax & wind down. Great local hiking trails especially Nancy’s peak & the 360 views from the top of the Devil’s slide were amazing. Excellent boutique wineries close by. Would definitely go again.

A hidden gem in the Porongurups

Reviewed By gabski_polka

Jilba cottage is a modest, well appointed cottage. We found it to be quiet, clean and comfortable, with loads of amenities (such as a washing machine, tv, the usual kitchen gadgets as well as binoculars, board games, puzzles, books and dvds). Artwork featuring the local flora and fauna was a nice touch. The breakfast provided was tasty and a generous serving at that! The views from the cottage and property are lovely and there are walking trails behind the property. During our stay we were lucky enough to see various birds, rabbits and kangaroos. Joan is a lovely host (she lives on the property in a separate building) and was a wealth of knowledge regarding the area and surrounds. A downside to the cottage is that it is only accessible by stairs, which may be a problem for some. The bottom part of the building is used for storage. Also, there are no blinds in the kitchen and living area, leaving one a bit exposed at night. All in all, Jilba cottage is a great base if you are visiting the Granite skywalk and hiking the various trails that are on offer in the region. A hidden gem in the Porongurups!

Simply fabulous!

Loved our two day stay. The new owners are revitalising these ever-so-cute A frame chalets. Lots of lovely little touches like heated towel rail, slow cooker, local art works, umbrella, books to read, electric blankets and an incredibly warm gas heater. We'll definitely be back. Even the sign out the front says "welcome home".
