The caves of Ponza are steeped in mystical mythology—legend has it that Ponza was Homer’s inspiration for the sorceress Circe’s island in The Odyssey. The whole island has a magical feel to it, from the grottoes to the botanical gardens to the underground labyrinth of Roman tunnels. Schedule a boat tour so that you can explore the entire island by sea—a truly spectacular experience.

Very nice setting, came by Tripadvisor reviews. Service seemed fine at start. But food was not perfect, and particularly the waitress missed our order. Then did not follow up. Some of the dinner came half an hour after the others. And then to end it took 45 minutes to pay.
Left unhappy!!
( the sommelierxwas great though)

Beautiful view of Port
Dinner here was very good. We had a little problem with our order but it was corrected quickly with out any fuss. I liked the food a little better than the place we went the night before but they were really equivalent.
Note for Americans there is very little meat aside from seafood on this island so expect fish or crustaceans. No where we went had steak or burgers, etc. Not a big deal for me/us but it would be somewhat of a surprise if you don't think about it.
We took Reservations and they seemed appreciated even though it was still off season. The real busy times starts June 2nd....the equivalent of memorial day. Apparently you can expect it to be completely full.
Highly recommended. And similar to my other reviews, my wife speaks fluent Italian but they could always tell I was struggling and would ask if we preferred them to speak to us in English so that's not a problem. In fact menu's are provided in either Italian or English if needed.
A beautiful balcony spot high above the rest of the shops so you can see the sea/port very well.

I dine at Angelino and the food and atmosphere were amazing. The restaurant offers a romantic sea view, the wine list is exhaustive as well as the selection of food.

The elegance and attention to every detail characterize the Chiaia di Luna, one of the finest restaurants in Ponza, that welcomes guests on the beautiful Terrace by the pool. The dishes are prepared with care and refinement, inspired by Mediterranean tradition, without forgetting the quality of the local ingredients. Pampered in front of the lights of Ponza port and illuminated by soft light of candles, dinner at the Chiaia di Luna is really an experience of great romance and charm.
Me and my boyfriend went up to Grand Hotel Chiaia di Luna thinking that the food and the service would keep up with the hotel standards. Arrived there (and it was the peak of the holiday season) and there was no one at reception. When the receptionist arrived we asked him if it was possible to dine there and the guy was almost surprised that we asked (no wonder why, we figured after).
We were brought downstairs. The ambient wasn't bad but there was no one (we should have got the hint there). They had a sat menu for 35 euros per head and the choice was kind of poor. They had american country music playing on the loop (the cd got stuck at some point and took them half an hour to realize that). The fish wasn't fresh. I had grilled kind prawns and I had to run immediately to the bathroom after was feeling sick. We asked for the bill straight away saying that I felt sick and they didn't even apologies or speeded up the bill counting. Final result: over priced meal, bad quality food, bad service and an upset stomach. Shame they have such an amazingly beautiful place so badly managed. Shame, shame. Never go there for food!

It's a tiny family run restaurant right on the beach of Le Forna. It's set in an amazing landscape, reachable only by boat from the nearby Beaches or through a path in the reef. The menu is quite simple and the offer of food is limited as everything they have is fresh and can be prepared only if the ingredients are available. The best dish they offer (remarkable) is called "Brivido di pesce" (shiver of fish), which consists in a chevice of mixed fish and spiced with local herbs. Their telephone number is 0771.808752 and it's only open in summer.
Good food, nice service, speaking english. The meals are not overly big, however, you can feel the restaurant being rather high end. The place is nice and the atmosphere is quiet. We have enjoyed our evening and the food.

thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and the food was the best on the island... Sunset was amazing but regrettably the evening was extremely windy... We sat out on the Terrace which was enclosed with plastic blinds against the wind they produced a terrific noise not dissimilar to being on a yacht in a storm with the haliards banging against the mast... This coupled with a table of young children next to us yelling above the noise of the wind made for a rather frantic atmosphere.... No denying the food and the setting though but go on a blissfully calm evening for a wonderful experience.

Simple traditional family run business, delicious food probably the best we had in Ponza, at great prices and in a beautiful location, you'd be mad to miss it if you came to ponza, and if you don't have a car, just rent a moped and drive here

Usually I avoid panaramic restaurants but as this place was highly recommended by some enthusiastic fellow travellers, I took the chance in July. And returned with a group of friends last week. The starters are excellent but the specialty of the house is the swordfish as the main course. Highly recommended. Attentive service. Good local wines from the region of Lazio and Campania

Want to have a real taste of Ponza? Typical and unique dishes with a soft enviroment, romantic breath taking panoramic view. Organize your night starting with an exotic aperitif in a relaxing outdoor lounge, continuing to experience some of the best things your taste buds have ever touched. Our menu is strictly prepared on premises, and we only use the freshest products that the island has to offer.
We dined here on a very windy night which made the experience a little less enjoyable than it otherwise would have been as e whole restaurant is open....of course this also allows a very reefreshing breeze which you need in August in Ponza!
We both ate the Amberjack fish - a game fish steak cooked with olives and tomatoes, it was delicious, i am not normally a fan of game fish and enjoyed it very much. We were dining with our two and four year old daughters so did not stay beyond main courses as the restaurant does not have highchairs in which to accomodate them and make our life a little easier while eating....
Also the restauarnt does not open until eight which for us with the girls is a little late.
However, if your children are used to dining late or you have none, La Campanella is worth a visit!
