The smallest of the Trójmiasto (Tri-Cities), the Baltic Sea spa town of Sopot is smack between Gdansk and Gdynia, just a few miles from each. A retreat for the rich and royal for centuries, Sopot’s exclusive air remained even through the Communist era, and the tony town has undergone a building boom in recent years. Boasting beautiful beaches and ritzy resorts, Sopot is also known for its Wooden Pier (the longest in Europe), the lovely mid-woods Forest Opera and lively Monte Cassino Street.

We went there for sentimental reasons. It was a place where and where we First met with my wife so expectations were high. The design of the place is completely refurbished. There is a great selection of beers from a tap. But what I was amazed personally most is the selection of whisky. The place definitely has its own style and I really wish them the best.

I've been waiting all holiday to eat here. This is a very straight forward place in terms of service and atmosphere. Grab a table, then it's a case of pointing at the starter dishes at the counter (unless you're fluent in Polish of course) and you take them to the table on a tray but order the mains at the same time. You'll be given a buzzer and then you fetch the food from the counter when it's ready. I had halibut and it was out of this world. For starters, the fish soup was wonderful and no bones in that. The fish sometimes contains bones, so be warned. Decor is very simple and nautical but not posh at all. Atmosphere was bustling as the football was on, we needed to get our elbows ready to shimmy past tables and chairs to squeeze in at our table. Not the most relaxing experience, granted, but the food makes up for it. Great beers, too and service with a smile. Fish lovers, get yourselves here. No table cloths or candles but the food speaks for itself. Loved it.

Burger-time again! I stopped by at this casual, stylish cantine-style restaurant for a hearty burger lunch and to dip into a new book I'd just bought. The menu is really diverse, with vegetarian and vegan options, salad bowls and I think I even spotted Asian-fusion at a nearby table. But I went for the Kashubian Burger. Flavorsome, juicy and cooked exactly as requested. The house red (a Tempranillo) was fine too. With both indoor and outdoor seating options, there's plenty of room, but I suspect it gets very full during the high season and at peak times. If you want to sit outside in the sun, best to go in the morning for breakfast, because later, the terrace is in full shade. There's also a good mix of 4-person tables and communal long tables - good if you're booking for a large group. I'll try it for breakfast next time...

First discovered this Sopot brewhouse in 2017 and was eager to make a return visit. The beers are great - I would recommend the Czech Gold (pilser style) and the German Blond (wheat beer). The food is a mix of traditional Polish and grill classics. I choose pierogi with a black pudding filling with an apple sauce - super tasty! The sauce is a balance of sweet and sharp - an ideal foil for the black pudding. My wife opted for steak. An instant classic! It had the perfect char and served sizzling on a cast-iron plate with vegetables to add a little flair. The flourishes donât end there - there is a piano and the option for the entertainment if you time your visit right. A very cool place to visit for some local cuisine.

Whiskey On The Rocks is seriously cool. Located in Sopot Centrum, this pub has the atmosphere of a classic American bar, complete with rock'n'roll playing in the background and a laid-back, stylish interior - check out the three huge lamps made entirely o
Everything as it should be. Attentive service. Whisky burger delicious. Even the sides (we had sweetcorn and beetroot) were super. Recommended if you like the American vibe and are not counting the calories.Itâs a huge pleasure to read such a comment. The food was really, REALLY exceptional. We ordered 5 different entres and they were all exquisite. Our only complaints were noisy music and dirty bathroom. Given that these are common problems for many places, I would give this place 4 and a half stars.
