We stayed in La Casetta del Pollino for five nights in October 2013. It was excellent. It was new, tasteful, clean and in a lovely setting. It was also warm with plenty of hot water. The family owning La Casetta were delightful. They couldn't have been more helpful and provided us with lovely, homemade food such as bread, pizza and a wide range of lovely cakes, as well as eggs from their chickens. It was a really first rate experience, we were sorry we only stayed five nights, and we are very much looking forward to returning.

My wife and I stayed at San Fele whilst on a touring holiday of Italy. We stayed in five different locations and San Fele stood out as the poorest of them all. Whilst I’m sure it could suit some people overall we were disappointed by San Fele. We were told that English was spoken but the only people who spoke English were my wife and myself. This made it impossible for us to find out local information about walks and places to visit. The food left a lot to be desired, breakfast mainly consisted of packets of dried toast and a slice of tart. My wife and I are vegetarian, the evening meals were poor one meal we could taste animal fat and found bits of bone in it.

In the very far southern Italy mountains of Basilicata, this Agriturismo has an outstanding restaurant with premium quality self-grown vegetables and meat. The dishes are from the typical recipes of the region. The landscape is so beautiful. The staff extremely kind and friendly. Isabella is also an official mountain guide, and will help you a lot with the excursions in the surrounding mountains in the National Park.

After an afternoon of tubing with River Tribe, we headed up winding mountain roads from Laino Borgo to this wonderful agriturismo. We were greeted by our kind hosts with a caffe and spent time relaxing at the pool until dinner. The dinner was an amazing selection of farm sourced, local specialties - crispy peppers, artichokes, cheeses, meats, handmade pasta, and wine. The room was very clean and comfortable for a family of four with a dog. Before leaving for our next adventure, we had a generous Italian breakfast to start our day. It is absolutely worth the ~30 min drive to stay at this agriturismo.

Francesco Senise runs a beautiful little agriturismo set high up in the hills above Rotonda with spectacular all round views. The rooms are much more comfortable than the website suggests. Francesco’s cooking is excellent and very generous (only an Italian could finish his servings of pasta). Vegetarians are a bit of a challenge to him as to most in a region known for tasty salami but his homemade ricotta is worth the trip on its own!

Farm located near the Lao River in the Pollino National Park. Surrounded by 22 hectares of land, with paths for walking in the wild, almost flat suitable for children and disabled. The name comes from the monumental oak tree that shades the structure. Ideal for those who want to enjoy the fresh waters of the river: rafting or walking along the river. Availability of tourist information, we also organize guided tours and nature safaris. Availability of bicycles, it provides assistance and mountain bike trails.
We had a great stay at La Quercia di Licari. Outside of Laino Borgo, the agriturismo offers a quiet and relaxing environment, close to many of the hikes that the Pollino National Park has to offer. Giuseppe and Nicoletta were very hospitable and helped us map out the hikes we had planned to do during our stay. Breakfast was very good and plentiful, including home made jams and cakes. Our room was very comfortable and private.

We have arrived in early June searching for a campsite. We got recommendation from local tourist office. The campsite was still closed. But this was not the issue. The owner was very rude to us although we have only asked if they are open. Strange behaviour for someone working in tourism...
