Excellent hotel in pointe noire. Pretty new structure with good restaurant, wide rooms, very nice pool outside and a little gym with basic equipment. Indeed the recommended accommodation if you need to pass by this city

If you want to stay in this hotel during summer and enjoy the pool then i highly suggest you to select another hotel. Indeed, we were supposed to stay 5 days... the night we arrived (around 7pm) our room was not ready and most importantly THE POOL was in maintenance. According to the management team and i quote « this occurs every summer as it is dry season and usually no one uses the pool during this period » .... an information that was NEVER mentioned anywhere. We made a claim to the booking company (EX****A) who badly handles our case despite all the proof we provided. Very disappointing experience

Such an elegant hotel. The entire staff was so kind and accommodating. The balcony had a gorgeous view of the ocean in the distance and the courtyard below. I couldn't have had a more relaxing stay. Oh and the food,it couldn't have been better. Love this hotel.

The Elaïs hotel, 190 rooms and suites, in a 2.5 hectare garden, is situated in the business center of the city. You will find there: restaurant, bar, several meeting rooms (to 500 persons), big parking lot, swimming pool, tennis, fitness center, shops and a service 4*
Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. Had to quarantine in my room (which they are no good at dealing with at all). Had no towel for 2 days after asking 5 times had to take a towel from the cleaning lady. No room cleaning. Also asked continuously for toilet paper, in fact anything I asked for I was told they would bring and it wouldn't arrive. Basic human needs, water and food not brought. Today I wasn't even supplied with breakfast after calling numerous times that I was missed. The staff don't care. The room was absolutely filthy. Had to try and scrub the disgusting shower head myself.

First find your hotel. There are two Sainte Jacques (Bord de mer does not seem to cut it with taxi drivers) so the best bet is to ask for St Jacques arpres Hotel Azur. Once at Hotel Azur ask the taxi to go a further approx 100m away from town around the turn in the road and you are at St Jacques. When I was there I saw no other guests and the restaurant was closed. The bar still had booze in it but I did not enquire as to whether they were serving. My room smelled heavily of mothballs, presumably to keep insects away, and the t.v. was old style with two channels, one with no sound. I did not expect to like the place. The truth is I had a relaxing few days. The bed was comfortable and the water hot.The ac seemed to be limping along yet it did keep the room at an OK temperature. There was wifi in the room although it came and went. As an apparent only guest I had the 100% attention of whoever was on reception and together we communicated so that when assistance was needed it was forthcoming. Taxis are cheap and plentiful so getting into town, if you do not want to walk, is not a problem although there are a number of restaurants just beyond Hotel Azur if you want to eat locally.

This is a small, attractive premises located centrally in Pointe Noire. The accommodations are simple and neat, the air conditioning works fine and the restaurant is literally "home cooking". For a short stay, it is excellent value. The walled garden is beautifully maintained and the swimming pool is clean and inviting.
