Dined here on our final night in Poland and were looking for something special.
The old czars railway cottage is a loverly building and nicely restored in keeping with its heritage.
Good, efficient and helpful Waitstaff who speak excellent English ( important for non poles!).
The meals we selected were a mix of fabulous to a bit ordinary, with the pheasant soup falling into the later category. The salad with czar's cheese and sturgeon were top quality while the other main of quail while nicely presented, was a little on the tough side.
Wine by the glass is a bit limited but our selection of a Spanish red was nice, and the coffee to finish was very good.
The cost was about double that of the other highly rated restuarant in town. Was the additional cost made up in the dining experience...probably not

The restaurant is located on the main street of Bialowieza town, in the centre of Primeval Forest. It offers exquisite and delicious dishes of local cuisine, served in a friendly athmosphere and elegant environment. We place an emphasis on the freshness and healthiness of our food, and we try to use only organic and ecological ingredients.
We had a phenomenal meal at Stoczek 1929. They had an excellent drink selection including several local craft beers that we enjoyed. We had venison carpaccio as an appetizer, roasted duck and deer haunch as our entrees, and finished with Marcinek, a polish layered cake. It was the best meal we had during our visit to Poland and we highly recommend it.

I found myself visiting this restaurant frequently because of a large number of reasons. First of all - their kitchen is open till quite late, so it is possible to have some food after a concert or other evening event. Secondly, the selection of traditional Polish food is excellent. Thirdly, the food is reasonably priced. Fourthly, the service is really good. Fifthly, it has a lovely atmosphere. And last but least, the selection of draft beers is excellent - almost 30 different types. and you can try them in a set of 10 small glasses. As far as I know they don't make any beers on the premises, but still the experience is wonderful.

Sztuka Mięsa Restaurant is an art of cooking. It is the place where passion for MEAT found its place on the plate!!! The Sztuka's menu is divided into five categories: Appetizers, soups, salads, fish and of course MEAT--while vegetable, fish, or meat are respectively the main stars of their categories, there are crossovers in each area so you'll get a little bit of everything. Our whole wheat Bread is baked every couple days, and there are always new creations on the menu. Our goal is to give our guests the same thing we expect from the food - simplicity and full flavor.Sztuka Mięsa is located in the center of Bialystok, 5 min walking distance from Opera i Filharmonia Podlaska - Europejskie Centrum Sztuki. Restaurant is open 7 days a week (Mo.-Th. 9am-10pm, Fr. 9am-11pm, Sa. 12am-11pm, Su. 12am-20pm) , because Sztuka is a tireless beast, and besides, who needs rest anyway? We accept Reservations but always keep tables open for walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don't like to plan. The Sztuka has a variety of Seating choices, including a comfortable lounge and standard table Seating (total of 60 seats, located on two floors).
A cosy place to dine in, staffs are friendly and helpful.
The portion is quiet big for solo traveller that I order 2 starters (Bone Marrow and Beef Shashlik/skewer) for lunch as I am willing to try different things.
Although they do not have a "wide" selection of wines but they offer wines(white&red) from local to Chile, Australia & New Zealand wine are on the list which is fairly priced(starting from 14zl per glass).
The bone marrow is huge and so tasty!! Superb with the chimichurri, chargrill lemon and rye.
The Skewers taste amazing. not to be mention they used beef mignon in this dish which is tender, juicy, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. So far it is the BEST meal I had in Poland.

Visited this small gemütlich restaurant two times for dinner. Each time was very good. Had the fish with green vegetables followed by ceesecake the first night, and the deer goulash with potato cakes the second night. Both occasions were great! There is an english translation of the menu. Highly recommended.

Tatar cuisine is so unique and unlike any other that it might not suit everone's tastes. Tatarska Jurta is exactly what it says on the box, no more no less, a simple Tatar restaurant. The meals are big and prepared with traditional recipes, most dishes are boiled or steamed, quite fatty but still healthy and natural. I went there twice but even though I ate a lot of good I never felt bloated or heavy, easy to digest. A unique experience, highly recommended.

We had a family lunch. Portions served are large as other places in the region. The dishes we choose were all very tasty and well made.
Coffee was good.
Prices are reasonably fair.
Service was great and some staff members spoke reasonably good English to communicate.
Good choice for lunch or dinner.

The house was built in 1897 by Abram Jossem, a known dentist from Bialystok. It hosted many famous residents, mostly the elite residents of Bialystok. Back in time, several institutions were located here: St. Petersburg Agency - Toulouse Land Bank - the main investor of the "Ritz" Hotel, the Szejnman pawnshop, an institution producing stamps, the Solomon Ginzburg request office, the "Life of Bialystok" editorial office, and many others.

Beautiful but unfortunately very damaged building, which was entered in the register of historical monuments, required renovation.

The modernization of the building, which was possible through the capital of the investors and the EU subsidies, started in 2009, although, the original facade of the building was preserved. The main idea of the whole undertaking was to create a boutique hotel in the heart of Białystok.
Very cozy atmosphere, nice and modern interior. Staff is excellent - friendly, helpful and attentive. Fast service and delicious meals.

Topolanka is a "milk bar". A place with cheap buffet style food, and by cheap I mean cheaaaaaaap. Topolanka is famous in the area for its high quality to price ratio, meaning that while it is not Gordon Ramsay's level of cooking, I can guarantee that you will not walk away dissatisfied, having spent only pennies and with you stomachs full.
