My husband and I stayed 2 nights on a mid April holiday weekend for our anniversary. Not only did we have an amazing, relaxing trip but we are already planning to come back! Our king suite was perfect. We enjoyed having an extra sitting room to read a book and watch tv with the snacks left for us. Every room has its own private bathroom and we had a microwave and refrigerator. The Inn itself is so charming & cozy and the owners have decorated it so beautifully with every little detail. Mark immediately greeted us to make us feel welcome and showed us to our room and Carol told us about the candy dishes in the lobby! The first night we arrived late and ate in their restaurant, Butter. Mark went from showing us to our room to cooking the most amazing burger and pasta & lobster dishes we have ever had. Then we had breakfast the next morning and I ate every bite of my asparagus and truffle omelet. The food was so good we decided to eat dinner here again the second night. I cannot rave enough about the meals and Mark's chef skills. If you get the chance, ask him about it, you'll be amazed. There's a stream onsite with some chairs to just sit and relax and listen to the water. The seclusion for a few days was just what we needed. Thank you again Mark and Carol. We had a lovely time and we will definitely return.

Rainbow Mountain is a gay-owned and operated resort, restaurant and nightclub that has been serving the community since 1981. Nestled high atop a mountainside on 25 private acres, including a 2 acre pond, we boast a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Welcoming both men and women and open to ALL lifestyles, we are open year round with our friendly and helpful staff ready to serve you. We are near many warm weather activities such as boating, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, water skiing, golfing and water parks (both outside and indoor). In the winter, there is snow skiing (downhill and cross country), snow boarding, tubing, and snowmobiling. All year long there is great hiking, horseback riding, antiquing, outlet and flea market shopping, and gambling.
Where do I begin? First, I tried to fix my issues while on site, and by calling 10 times since my stay, not counting the times either no one picked up or the call was cut off. I could not get anyone to speak with me and try to resolve these issues: 1) hall and room floors were DIRTY. Just not vacuumed. 2) Trash littered throughout grounds. 3)No way to darken room - blinds do not close properly, no curtains, cracks in door, between door and jamb, and around transom above door. 4) No stopper for tub or sink, could not do my hand wash. 5) Toilet did not flush properly, tub did not drain properly. 6) No stand by bed for electronics or light. 7) Requested early breakfast, was denied. Arrived at 9am opening but nothing had been prepared. Later a plastic bag of supermarket bagels was tossed on table. When I opened a 2 pound slab of butter, I discovered black mold completely covered one side of it. I could go on, but I won't.

We stayed at this convenient B&B one night recently on our way from New Hampshire to Maryland. Arriving in the evening, we needed advice as to restaurants that might be still open. Gordon and Cecilia were quick to tell us of places to choose from (including Istanbul, a wonderful Turkish place where we had eaten on a previous trip) and called to be sure we would still be able to get a table. No problem! The house is a beautiful and tastefully decorated mansion from the 1860s. The bed was comfortable in our room, which featured the high ceilings typical of the times. Breakfast was terrific with Eggs Benedict, fruit, and pastries. The hosts are friendly and well informed about local history, as they are from Wilkes-Barre. We talked at length about the coal mines that brought wealth to the area - and about the end of the mines when they flooded in the 20th century, bringing death and destruction to people's lives and livelihoods. Gordon showed us a "Davy Lamp," named after its British inventor, which replaced the canaries that indicated the presence or absence of oxygen. Both hosts were delightful conversationalists, and we much enjoyed learning more about the whole region around Wilkes-Barre and why the city's name is pronounced the way it is (Wilkes and Barré, pronounced like berry), after two members of the English parliament who voted to allow the American colonies to be free from English rule. We heartily recommend the B&B and its two wonderful hosts.

My wife and I were staying at the fabulous Lodge at Starlight Lake. She wanted to eat dinner the first night at someplace close to the Lodge and made a dinner reservation at the Inn. If it were possible to leave a rating with no stars I would. We were the only customers in the dining room. The staff including the owner were not friendly and the food was barely worth eating. We will never go back to that location

The Lakewood Lodge and Restaurant is a country inn offering guest comfort in our 15 room lodging facility, with onsite restaurant and lounge. Rooms with private entrances are available in the main Lodge, and our onsite Carriage House. The Carriage house features two larger rooms equipped with efficiency kitchens, outdoor decks and living areas. Other rooms are available inside the main Lodge. We purchased the lodge in the fall of 2013 and have made many updates: updated and expanded restaurant kitchen, new restaurant restrooms, and a new outdoor pavilion that offers outdoor dining with a view of our beautiful countryside. We are located directly on the O&W Trail of this area's Rails-to-Trails system, so we offer many outdoor recreation activities from our doorstep: hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ATV riding and snowmobiling. We've improved our auxiliary parking area for guests to park their ATV or snowmobile trailers. We are located 20 minutes from the Elk Mountain Ski Resort and provide equipment storage onsite. We are also located 15 minutes from world class trout fishing on the West Branch of the Delaware River. Owners are local to the area and can guide guests with information on specific areas of interest while you're visiting the area.

I just rented out the whole inn for my bachelorette, and we could not have been happier. It was truly the greatest weekend for all. Delaney, who runs the inn, was the most helpful, accommodating and lovely person to work with. She helped everyone decorate the house, made sure all rooms were prepped and ready for a wonderful stay (including the most comfortable robes), and made the most delicious and filling breakfasts for us each morning. She was constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and her fiancé even came over each night to start a fire for us. Delaney made this stay as perfect as it could possibly get. The House and the Barn Suites were truly immaculate, cozy, rustic, and warm. The inn is should no longer be a hidden gem and should is an all-around incredible experience.
