This hotel is located in a wonderful position overlooking a beach which seems to stretch forever with a gentle lapping sea. Two minutes down the road there are shops and cafes. Our room was a good size with a door to the balcony. The bathroom had a safety rail and rubber mat for the bath and a separate toilet which was a bonus if anyone was washing at the basin. There was also a sink for coffee/tea making facilities. Everywhere was spotless and the cleaners kept it so. All staff, particularly at Reception were efficient and helpful. The restaurant however, was not to our taste. The first night I had fish on black rice with a not very pleasant sauce. A French lady at the next table agreed that she didn't like it either and to send it back. I didn't but we ate out henceforth. We would certainly return but next time take a French dictionary for the restaurant!

We are cycling the EV4. We could not have wished for a warmer welcome! They had somewhere for our bikes. The rooms were fantastic (we had 402 - a balcony with a wonderful view), bathroom with a very good shower (over bath). The breakfast (at 9 euros) was great. Cheese, ham, boiled eggs, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, coffee etc. just wonderful full stop!

I've stayed in over 1000 hotels in the last fifty years, but was totally unprepared for this. A small motel in a position that was quiet at night. No reception! To check in, you travel 600 metres (not 400 as the sign says) to the Hotel de Mer and collect your key, for there are no staff at this motel: two people arrive at 11am to service the rooms. I opened the door to reveal a miniature world - smaller than my caravan. It consisted of a bedroom, a bathroom and a lobby-kitchen. The bedroom had a double bed, a small work surface, a TV and two plastic chairs. The lobby-kitchen had a fridge, a hob and a surprisingly comprehensive array of cutlery, cookware etc. It also had a table and two upright chairs, but you couldn't sit at these and have the doors open or access the bathroom. The bathroom was the best bit, with a really decent, if small shower. But what's this ladder for? You have to fold it out (and move the chair to do so) and it's a steep climb up to a tiny area with two small single beds, one under the other at right angles. Fine for two children - there's a gate at the top. What else? Oh yes - no windows except for skylights. Outside, the well-kept garden area is stylish and relaxing, and you need it otherwise you'd get the heebee-jeebees from claustrophobia. I'd hate to be there on a wet day. The bed was comfortable, the linen fresh, everywhere was clean, the bathroom spotless. For one night it was fine, but by the second night I was getting restless. It was almost fun, like living in a dolls house. An honest attempt at something different in budget accommodation, but I never thought I'd ever see anything smaller than an Ibis Hotel bedroom.

The apartments were very clean and served us well on this short break. The location is up hill so not for those with walking difficulties, but the views are excellent. Ensure you have a higher floor as the trees will spoil your views of the bay from the balcony. The town itself is very welcoming and spotlessly clean with a selection of restaurants and shops. It is possible to mix and match eating out/in cooking quick and easy meals with the facilities available. (No oven but hob, microwave/grill, fridge). Good for beach and cliff walks around the coast and to other towns and villages. Easy driving around the neighbouring towns - 45 minutes from Dinan.

This was the first stop on our trip, and it turned out to be a good choice. The woman who welcomed us, and seemed to do almost everything else, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The room was very good, a large comfortable bed, and a small balcony with even a glimpse of the sea, breakfast next day was very good. No restaurant here, but only minutes from the seafront and quite close to the centre of town, so plenty of choices within walking distance, even so late in the season. The secure on-site parking was appreciated. Nothing to complain about at all. Absolutely no fault of the hotel of course, but due to roadworks and temporary diversions in the town that confused our car's SatNav, not the easiest place to reach at the time we were there.

The hotel was located in the town centre with not much nearby. The steps to get up to the room were very steep and there was no lift. The rooms were quite spacious and the bathroom OK. The room was a little dusty and the wifi very slow. We went to the restaurant for dinner (nothing else open nearby) and the food and the service was very good. Equally breakfast was enjoyable.
