We loved this restaurant last year. They have a dish for two with shrimp, scallops, calamari, and more. We wanted a table outside. Not available. Yet we looked at three or four tables outside that sat empty the whole time we were there. Plus, the dish with the seafood.. The picture shows 8 or 9 shrimp. We had 3. Only 2 or 3 scallops. It was all calamari. And a bit rubbery at that. Just not as good as last time for sure. Server was a great guy. Wine was great and reasonable.

A group of 24 (9 children included) of us ate here and were all very happy with the food and drink which was excellent. One of us try to pay for food all in one but had 2 separate cards rejected twice meaning a trip to the ATM and an unexpected 10% Mexican surcharge on the transaction. When we were about to leave there were just 2 left behind and were surrounded by about 5 staff who demanded an extra 50 dollars as we hadn't left enough tip, unbeknown to us and not advised, we got told we must leave a 10% tip. We worked it out and we were only short by 10 dollars, we gave that and left, it was a really disappointing and intimidating end to the night. We feel a tip should be indicated or given if we feel like giving.Don't hesitate to go here for food but please ensure you keep at least 10% back for a tip.Hi Jamwal 1974. As the operations manager I was there for your table and we thought you had a very nice evening as well thank you for that. I don't remember anybody 'demanding' a tip. We also only had 2 waiters and myself (Raul) working so I'm not sure who the other people who surrounded you were. I'm very sorry the Credit Card machine was malfunctioning that day it was a regional outage and we spent hours on the phone with the bank in the afternoon trying to fix it before dinner service.Of course we would ask you for full payment if you didn't pay us enough to cover the check, as would any business I know of. The check was approximately (more or less) $300 Euros and if you felt any dissapointment from the server staff for not receiving any tip for serving 24 people (including 9 children), I take full responsibility and will review your comments tonight with them.We would never DEMAND a tip. If we demanded tips and acted like that, we wouldn't have the extensive clientele we value so much. It is customary as servers often work as a second job to make money to provide for their family and/ or expenses. In Europe the server staff often makes as much as 5x the salary as they do in the Americas, but the service staff on this side of the Atlantic make their money with tips. 15%-20% is the most common range for good to great service, but 10% is not unheard of. Thank you for your comments and I will follow up with you in a private message.

OllaCeviche Bar

A fun poolside restaurant with unobstructed views of the ocean that offers a market style feast comprised of regional dishes and elevated "street food" showcasing Mexico's most inspiring flavors, emphasizing a selection of taco's and Yucatan specialties.

The staff at OllaTaco was very helpful and very nice. The food was beyond great! They have so many classic Mexican dishes (tacos, fajitas, gringas, etc.) Plus ——— they have more Americans adoptions of Mexican classics. Perfect combo of foods in one restaurant! The location is on the beach side of the Hyatt Andaz Mayakoba Bay resort, which is harder to get to from most rooms for dinner (even though it isn’t that hard) It is the best place for lunch on the resort. You can order from the beach of the resort, or hop on a golf cart over in the middle of the day. Great for lunch! Great for dinner! Recommended! Quick and easy! Especially eat when staying at the Hyatt Andaz Mayakoba Bay or any of the Mayakoba Bay hotels/resorts.
