This is by far the best Dairy Queen we have ever been to because they MAKE their own novelty items--Dilly Bars, DQ Sandwiches, and Buster Bars! These items are made fresh at this restaurant. They are NOT made miles away, stored, and finally shipped. This means that the cookies are still crunchy and the peanuts are not soggy! On occasion we will be traveling elsewhere, and I will forget that I am not at the Plattsmouth Dairy Queen. I will order a buster bar. YUCK--manufactured, shipped, and tasted like it. If you are anywhere in the area, take a slight detour and stop at this Dairy Queen for one of their novelty treats. It is well worth the effort.

My friend and I stopped into Sisters Cafe for a morning coffee and were delighted to be served a delicious cup of fresh coffee along with service that was reminiscent of the way things were many years ago. Classy furnishings, art, fresh table linens, cream in a pitcher, really good coffee, a totally lovely experience. We plan to go back for lunch or dinner, as the menu looked really tempting.

So quaint, nicely decorated and great sandwiches, quiche and specials. Owners were gracious and welcomed input and ideas for new offerings.

Stan's opens very early. They also have a drive thru and gathering place for the morning regulars. We usually stop by when headed out of town on early mornings. They post hours on a sign outside. Get there early so things don't run out. Also get there early to buy the day-old donuts because they sell out fast too.

clean restaurant with a nice simple menu, good BBQ and sides. Homemade sauces, I counted 9 different flavors. You can taste them all to find the one you are in the mood for. The hot brisket sandwich was loaded with great mashed potatoes on a slice of bread, and all this covered with a mound of sliced smoked brisket. Get the gravy on the side for the bread and potatoes. BBQ sauce for the brisket...the side of green beans were as good as I've ever had.

We liked the booths with walls that provide privacy. Parking lot isn’t very nice but inside is nicely decorated. I had the chimichanga fajita (steak) and she had Maria’s Especial. Both were good and not spicy. Thanks for having Tapatio sauce at the tables! Chips are very tasty!

Stopping in the River House Cafe is like a step into the romantic past. The bar, mosaic flooring, and many of the fixtures date to the 1920s or before, and the overhead music adds to the charm; it had been a long time since I'd heard Louis Armstrong's 'West End Blues'. I had a fine sandwich and a great chocolate malt. The glass-and-mixer portions of their malts are enough to satisfy two people, and the person I was with said it was the best malt she'd ever had. The sandwiches were solidly above-average, too; I only regret that we were too full for the pie. This place has earned a solid spot on my short list of places to recommend.

Great daily specials like 2.00 burgers on tuesdays or tacos on Thursdays and steaks on fridays. Old fashion bar just off the highway. They are super friendly with great service. And the food is very good. Lots of construction workers eat there on their lunch. The only problem is they are tearing up the highway right now and it's a little tricky getting into their parking lot.
