Sitting only 18 miles South of the US border with Quebec, Plattsburgh was once a major hub in the fur trade with Montreal. The city is made for walking, full of beautiful turn of the century buildings and manicured parks. A River Walk follows the Saranac River as it cuts through town, ending at the shores of Lake Champlain, home to Champy, the American cousin of the Loch Ness Monster. The surrounding area is part of Adirondack Park, America's largest wilderness preserve outside of Alaska.

Anthony's Restaurant & Bistro is set within a remodeled nineteenth century farm house where we have been welcoming guests since 1980. We offer contemporary, European-American cuisine, graciously presented in an atmosphere of warm country elegance. With a choice of ambiance, guests can enjoy our relaxed casual Bistro Lounge or our intimate white table cloth Dining Room. Each of our menus are available throughout the restaurant.
By far the best restaurant in Plattsburgh. Amazing entrees and appetizers. Recommend trying the unusual items such as the boar sausage and ostrich steak. Or you could go for the delicious steaks. Caters to large groups as well. Highly recommend for a dinner date or bringing 40 people.

Homestyle comfort food from the Himalayas. Gluten and Vegan friendly.
We went to Himalaya based on all positive reviews. The place is indeed absolutely awesome: the staff is very friendly and the food quality is excellent and the taste is great. We've chosen Momo appetizers and Tibetan main courses: all dishes were delicious.

Blue Collar Bistro now open at 82 Margaret Street for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday. Join us for breakfast on Sunday at 9 AM. We buy as many locally-produced foods as the seasons allow and create yummy takes on comfort classics. Mac & Cheese, burgers, meatloaf, steaks, fish tacos, paninis, pies, cheesecakes and more.
On our monthly travels to Vermont we usually stop in Plattsburgh for lunch, and lately we have strayed from our usual spots. The downtown area of Margaret St. is an interesting area, and the Blue Collar Bistro is part of it. We decided to give it a try.
Love places like this! Cozy interior with booths and tables as well as an outdoor area for those who want to watch the people and traffic. We grabbed a booth inside, and looked over the menu over a couple of ice teas.
Well, I have read and heard so much about the Mac and Cheese that I had that on the brain when I started looking at the menu. Lots of interesting choices, but Mac and Cheese was still calling me. When our server came to the table with the specials, well the Mahi Mahi sandwich overtook both of us. But I had the greens instead of the fries and we shared a small (??) order of Mac and Cheese.
The fish was very fresh considering how far we are from its habitat. Plentiful portion, tasty and satisfying. My added Mac and Cheese was wonderful! It was so big that I thought I would have to bag half of it after I finished my sandwich. Nope! I had no trouble eating more than my share. Glad I tried it!
As many other TripAdvisors noted, the owner came over to our table as we were finishing up to ask us how the food was. She got a well deserved compliment and two thumbs up from me.
There is a nice little bar here, and the décor is neat and tasteful. Lots of drink and food specials on different days of the week. Service was good and the food was prepared fresh and quite quickly. Hey this could be a hang out for my wife and I. Only problem is that it is nearly 2 hours from our house! We had a great time, and we will surely be back!

Legendary Food, Legendary Service
Our 10 month old decided that it wasn’t a good idea to go out for dinner. We were visiting Plattsburgh and had heard about Texas Roadhouse and planned to go for dinner. Luckily for us, they do carry out! We got our appetizer and entrées to go, and ate at the hotel! The portions are so generous and the food is amazing. Great BBQ! We will definitely go back when we go to Plattsburgh!

The Butcher Block restaurant in Plattsburgh, NY is family owned and specializes in steak and seafood, but offers a wide variety of delicious options.
Very good local steak and seafood restaurant along with a wide variety of other foods. Newly remodeled bar, nicely done except for the fact of being very loud when crowded, great service, especially on the bar side.

We’ve now eaten at Aleka’s three times recently and we have been treated to an excellent meal each time. From the service to the food to the value, Aleka’s is one on the eateries that downtown Plattsburgh can be proud of. We haven’t found fault with anything that we’ve ordered over our several visits to this Middle Eastern restaurant. The hummas is excellent! The Greek fries are truly unique! Their Super Falafel is my go-to meal! And their burgers in a pita can match any traditional hamburger served in the area. On the alcoholic side, I’d highly recommend their Sangria. Red or white, you can’t go wrong. We found out that on Sundays there is a 15% discount. A very nice surprise. Aleka’s has become one of our favorite local restaurants to now give our patronage to.

Haven't been at an Uno resturant in 15 years, and this was better than I remember. Staff were friendly, and quick. Food was very good, I had a chicken dish, and it was delicious. There is much more on the menu than pizza. Those watching...MoreThank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your meal and the service. We hope that you are able to visit us again in the future.

Broad clientele in a cozy location with upscale decor. Server advised that there was a new menu starting the evening we visited. Side and spinach salads were lovely. One member of our party enjoyed a flatbread pizza. Another had a lovely chicken over linguine with sundried tomatoes: generous, but not as overwhelmingly huge as some other restaurants: "right-sized." Two of us had a new menu offering, a crab cake sandwich. Large portion, but tasting primarily of baked or fried panko bread crumbs. Scant evidence of the advertised salsa accompaniment. This entree needs tweaking. Another new item, a three-berry cobbler dessert, was large, easily shareable, and perhaps the hit of the evening. Worth another visit for sure.

What a wonderful meal from wonderful people. Their quiche was light and flavorful. Accompanied by a variety of salads. I typically don't have dessert after a meal but their selection was delectable. We sat on the patio in back where we enjoyed the spring weather. And the inside is quaint and cozy. If in the area this is a must try.
