We have been going to the Cheer Factory since we moved to the Northern Beaches in Nov 2017. Over 15+ visits we have always enjoyed amazing food served with genuine care and enthusiasm. We particularly love the Rogan Josh and Dahl Tadka and no visit is complete without a Chicken Tika starter. The new premises has added extra space complemented with stunning photography. Itâs a must visit.

Indian cuisine with a French influence. This influence results in subtle and flavoursome curries. Your curries can be tailored to your hot taste buds if that's what you enjoy. Not your stapled Indian. Our curries are ecstasy to your palate, try them.
It is a little restaurant tucked away in the shopping strip at Newport. We invited two friends to come with us because they enjoy Indian food too. I booked on the Dimmi website and we were given a 30% discount on the food bill. We shared the onion bhaji and lamp chops for an entree and they were both delicious. We then shared four main meals and I picked the salmon curry. It was delicious but the size of the salmon was a bit small. We also had fluffy white rice and garlic naan. We will be coming back and it is only a few minutes drive away from our house.

Periyar is a delight to every epicurean looking to enjoy the taste of India! It is an opportunity to go on a gastronomic tour and experience a mélange of beautiful flavors & spices. Attentive staff and elegant surroundings make Periyar the essence of fine
We were served by two willing but sadly inexperienced waiters who were difficult to understand and who did not take the orders properly. Mixed entrée for 4 involving dips / chutney supplied barely enough papadums for one and when extra were requested, these were charged on the bill. Stingy.Meals were good and presented nicely.Conversation was very difficult as the room is a concrete box with few soft wall decorations to reduce the noise of other patrons.

Wow.Surprised there are only four reviews for this place so far. Thought it would have been up there in the Top Five at least for Newport. It is an absolute cracker.Best curry in Newport......certainly. Best curry on Northern Beaches......I would say so. Certainly the best and most authentic tasting curry I have had since my last visit to India.I absolutely adore the mild butter chicken which is beyond scrumptious, as is the hot vindaloo. And I can hardly get enough of the baingan masala eggplant dish. The tandoori chicken sandwich is fantastic, especially after a swim at the beach. The dahl makhani lentil dish is great. The naan bread and rotis are brilliant. The masala tea (weekends only) is delicious. That is is only a small sample of what I have tried so far...........so many other curries to try. There are seats inside, but I always get take-away. I think the rice and two curry combo for $12.90 is great value.I have been about 50 times now and always been consistently good. First time I tried it, I was so ecstatic at finding a decent curry on the Northern Beaches, that I was practically inhaling the food, could not get it in my gob fast enough!! Yes the service can be a little abrupt. The young sons are really nice and friendly. The older guy (think he is the father) can be a bit bad tempered. It took about ten visits before he thawed and started being friendly to me.But I don't really care about the service in this instance, as the curries are worth the effort of dealing with grumps.Easy and quick take away. Really do LOVE it.
