Blair Atholl (from the Scottish Gaelic: Blàr Athall, originally Blàr Ath Fhodla[1]) is a small town in Perthshire, Scotland, built about the confluence of the Rivers Tilt and Garry in one of the few areas of flat land in the midst of the Grampian Mountains. The Gaelic place-name Blair, from blàr, 'field, plain', refers to this location. Atholl, which mean 'new Ireland', from the archaic Ath Fhodla is the name of the surrounding district.

The Brasserie is situated within the Fonab Castle Hotel on Loch Faskally and affords absolutely spectacular views.Service was great. From the Haggis Bon Bons to Gnocchi and Monkfish to the Dark Chocolate Pave and Perthshire Strawberries, our dining experience was second to none.

Had a wonderful meal here with my husband Smoked Salmon & Mango Chilli Prawns to start with which were lovely Main courses were Salmon with hollandaise and Venison, which were both wonderful Didnât have dessert as we had no room to fit anything else in Staff were absolutely lovely, really friendly and welcoming Next time we are in Pitlochry we will definitely return

Brilliant food here, backed up by great service. 3 of us ate here and had mains and a bottle of wine plus soft drinks for £73, which I thought excellent value. Itâs difficult to categorise this restaurant but we had a very enjoyable experience. Starting with a warm welcome and being ushered to a lovely table for two by the fire, the restaurant had a good feel. It could equally suit couples, groups or families.The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient and, despite how busy the restaurant was, everything was served in good time. There was an interesting wide range of food from pasta & pizza to steaks, seafood, fajitas etc. We started with a shared calamari, followed by Sea Bass and Fajitas finishing with an amazing chocolate brownie & ice cream. We ate here as we were staying in the hotel. Being a fixed menu, we had reservations about the limited choice. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were left satisfied but not stuffed. The flavours were subtle but very tasty. Wouldnât hesitate to recommend.

We were staying in Pitlochry for a week but didn't try this place for a meal till the end of the holiday - great pity! We chose from the cheaper meals in the conservatory but these were excellent and the place is very friendly. The grounds are lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful.Thoroughly recommend!Thank you for saying such nice things about your recent visit. I am so pleased you enjoyed your evening with us; perhaps next time you would like to venture into the restaurant? Not only is the food here delicious, fresh and local. But also the atmosphere, welcome and presentation are outstanding. A real treat in an unexpected place.
