Go ahead and take that photo of yourself with a tilted hand "holding up" the Tower of Pisa. We won't tell; your rep as a sophisticated traveler will remain unblemished. Now that you've gotten that out of the way, climb the tower's 300 steps for a tilted view, or visit the National Museum of San Matteo and the Camposanto cemetery.

Pleasant stay

Good quality B@B. The bedrooms were very comfortable and plenty of space. The breakfast was okay but more staff required to refill and service the dining room. As we were meeting family from the airport it is very convenient to stay there.

All the hype - Absolutely deserved

Reviewed By Crewealex7

Attracted here by positive and consistent reviews. Equally impressed by the Di Stefano and Pisa itself- both charming, traditional and friendly. Staff, particularly reception, couldn’t be more helpful or knowledgeable. Room was comfortable, very clean and at this time of year - a very welcome drinks fridge and small balcony overlooking the classic red tile rooftops of the city. Breakfast traditionally continental , good choices and continually replenished. The medieval dining room very impressively restored. Visits - Florence stunning although heaving. Marina de Pisa disappointed - further investment/development needed in the stone beached local resort. Wouldn’t hesitate to use Di Stefano again as a base to explore other towns of Tuscany.

Nice Hotel - Watch out for Double Charging

Reviewed By X3986CNkeithh

Nice Hotel with brilliant views of the Tower. However disappointed that on the roof terrace I found out on return to UK I was double charged 118 Euros. Emailed info and reception email address's for this hotel but nobody wants to return my query. I have provided absolute proof and used PDF scans to detail this but no answer back. Very disappointing does anyone know how to get in contact with the manager or anyone that will sort this out.

Night in Pisa

Reviewed By bananas792

We stayed in this hotel for one night during our stay in Pisa. Angela was very welcoming and friendly. In fact, all the staff were lovely! Most importantly, we had a great nights sleep here. The beds were large and comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was spacious and the shutters blacked out the entire room so we had a dark room for better rest. Would recommend staying here. It is close to the main attractions and easy to get around!

The Perfect Stay

Reviewed By geema10

My 17 year old son and I have just come back from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Bristol. After researching hotels and areas to stay we chose the Hotel Bristol based on reviews and we were not disappointed! The hotel is in a great location just 15 minutes drive from Pisa airport. We chose a superior room which is in a separate block near the swimming pool. The room was perfect, very spacious and with plenty of wardrobe space, drawers, a large bathroom with walk-in shower, complimentary toiletries, complimentary slippers, a safe and a fridge with 2 bottles of water in (which we really appreciated coming straight from the airport!) The wifi in the room was also really fast and reliable (there is also separate wifi around the pool which was also good) I took my own teabags and coffee and asked Enrico if he could supply a kettle. He immediately came back with one and 2 mugs. He also told us there was a supermarket nearby and we could put food in the fridge which was very convenient. The room was spotlessly clean and each day when we returned had been cleaned to a very high standard with fresh towels each day. We loved the pool area. It was generally very quiet as most people were out sightseeing. We would spend an hour or 2 round the pool at the end of each day but it was never crowded and although there is only 12 sunbeds there were always some free. There was also an honesty bar near the pool which looked well stocked although we didn't actually use this. The pool was nice to swim in, big enough to do lengths and also had a jacuzzi section next to it. Next to the pool there is a tennis court and also free bike hire although again we didn't use these. Breakfasts were fantastic! So much choice! Fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, cakes, nuts, biscuits, cakes, fruit juice. yoghurts, hot drinks, various teabag flavours, a toaster for toasting bread, ham and cheese. We really ate like kings each morning and Enrico and his team were always on hand to see if you wanted a hot drink or were buzzing about cleaning things up or restocking the breakfast area. We found the location perfect for sightseeing. We caught the no 10 bus to Pisa the first day (bought tickets from the tabacconist shop round the corner which Enrico told us about) The bus stop is a short walk away and it's a 25 min trip. The 2nd day we asked to book a taxi to the train station in Pisa and Enrico called the firm he uses so we wouldn't be overcharged on the fare. The driver was lovely, very friendly and the car was immaculate. He also told us to text him the time we would be back at Pisa train station and he would come and collect us (which he did, he was there waving when we emerged from the train station) That day we caught the train to Florence (about an hours journey) The last day we again caught the bus to the train station in Pisa and caught the train to Lucca. Again another fabulous day out! The location of the hotel itself in Tirrenia is perfect. It is a lovely quiet resort on the beach and feels very Italian. We found plenty of restaurants in the town to eat at and everyone was very welcoming. On our last day Enrico had again booked a driver to take us to the airport and we were extremely sad to leave. I would not hesitate to stay again at Hotel Bristol. Enrico is such a natural hotelier, he is born to do it! He is on hand constantly, genuinely cares about his guests and cares that they have a good stay. As a woman travelling with her son I felt very safe and felt that if we'd have experience any problems he would have been there to assist us. Thanks Enrico and your team for a wonderful holiday and I hope one day to visit again!

Very convenient. Helpful people

Access is via a galleria and sadly dilapidated as some units are empty. However once through the doors, everything is as it should be. Friendly and helpful, English speaking staff. The hotel is literally 2 minutes from the main station and although that means that it is the opposite side of town from the Leaning Tower, no distances in Pisa are that large. We had one outstanding breakfast and had to leave too early to get a second. However we should have accepted the offer of a packed breakfast as Pisa airport had little to offer and at higher cost. Once you have done the Cathedral, Leaning Tower, etc. then a walk on the city walls is highly to be recommended. If you have time walk the full 3km.

This is not a 5* hotel!

Reviewed By Gessymadalina

The hotel I would say is a 3 star hotel. Apart from the reception that has few nice elements of decoration and in a distance a view of the tower, there is nothing nice about the hotel. The rooms are old and poorly equiped - there is an expresso machine, but they do not provide espresso capsules, nor tea sachets. The room was dusty, cleaning was rather superficial, the bed & bed sheets had few stains, the breakfast was poor also with very few options, that cannot even be mentioned. Distance to Pisa tower - walking 23 mins, but the ride takes you through a long underpass that is kind of dodgy, dark and wrapped in graffity street art, in the vecinity of a railway and I’ll put it like this in few words - you wouldn’t like to walk alone at night, for sure! Hotel does not provide iron or an iron board, “they had one but they didn’t replace it”, as the reception informed me. They have a pool, which is ok, but I did not use it. Conclusion - I would not choose this hotel for my stay in Pisa, unless I’m expecting to have a 3 star treatment and a suburban location.

The location of the hotel is great. That’s it. Close to Eliopoli plaza with shopping and grocery market. That’s it. The property has not been updated since the 60 or 70’s and there were ants everywhere. I put my cosmetics and packaged snacks in ziplock bags and there were still bugs with no air conditioning. The wifi did not work at all anywhere on property. Very unfortunate and unpleasant stay and Mercure needs to do better because be location is great.
