Frans & Marie Bistro is a casual French restaurant in the center of Tampere . Love good food and enjoying it is the basic idea of ââour operations . French cuisine and bubbling joy of life , we combine a charming , upbeat manner .
The arrival from the hotel lobby was quite confusing. You have to go through the first restaurant Amarillo to get to Frans & Marie. We got a table in front of the open kitchen. So there was quite a lot traffic past our table. The food looked greater than it tasted. My meatballs were the toughest ones I have ever had.The best part of our dinner was our friendly waitress and the bread.

Business lunch in unique atmosphere: old cellar restaurant, waiter telling interesting history story of the place. Tasty food, kind personnel. Home-made bread. I would have raited this restaurant excellent, if there had been some fresh salad or vegetables with main course. Anyway, this restaurant is worth visiting!

A lovely little bistro, right near the main street of Tampere and the central train station.
we came here for brunch on a Sunday. The offering of salty food was very limited, and it truly looked as a collection of leftovers (cold chicken, cold potatoes etc), all decorated as it sprinkled parsil and pepper would give it a new life. Also the visual presentation was very sad: it looked like nobody had rearranged the dishes for hours. The sweet side was croissants and various kinds of bread.Nothing exciting there, either. The cook prepared for us some very anonymous scrambled eggs. I really cannot relate my experience to the positive reviews I read from other customers. Our comment upon leaving was "luckily we did not come here with guests"

Small, classy restaurant in the heart of Tampere. We offer a warm yet comfortable dining experience, focusing on freshly prepared quality food and carefully chosen wines.
We had heard good comments about this restaurant so wanted to check it out. 3-course lunch menu costs 25â¬. Starter was just green salad and dessert was ice cream with fresh berries. Main course was pork served with mashed potato. Food was tasty but lack of imagination, basic Finnish homefood. Bread was served without any butter, just dry baguette. Didn't feel like it was worth the money. Waitress was friendly and did the minimum she's supposed to but nothing extra. Introducing the courses and wines would bring additional value to the experience. Had really high expectations which unfortunately were not fulfilled this time.
