Brandon's BBQ & Grille

Since opening our doors in 2002, we have added two additional seating areas. We have an indoor dining room, an enclosed porch as well as an open-air deck that is also utilized in winter months! Casual attire, friendly atmosphere, and great food and drinks!

After spending a week of camping at Pipestem, we were ready for a good meal. This restaurant was recommended by other campers so tried it. The AC was only partially working the night we were there so miserably hot.....otherwise food was delicious and service superb. Would definitely recommend ...only a few miles from Pipestem State Park.

Enjoyed the cheeseburger. Ambience is not too distracting. The service was pretty good. There is a reason the locals brought me here first. No doubt one of the best restaurants the town has to offer.Thank you for leaving us a review. We are glad you enjoyed the cheeseburger. Hope you stop in when you are in the area.

Mountain Creek Restaurant at Pipestem

Mountain Creek is a higher class restaurant in a rustic location. A six minute, 1200 feet descent, tram ride to the restaurant is the start of an amazing experience. We spent about 1/2 hour before our reservation (required) wandering around the creek and lodge area.
Entrees range from $22 to $40something and most do not include sides. Salad and beverage is extra. We ordered prime rib. It was a perfectly prepared, large cut served over mashed potatoes and topped with arugula. A dark rye bread was served with the house salad we ordered. We were well pleased with the meal and the experience.

The food was excellent in portion size! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. They were decorated for Christmas and the place was nearly empty so our large party had the place to ourselves pretty much most of the time. The portions were nice, but the price was just a bit much however sacrafices for nice atmosphere and excellent service that you would not get in a chain. Everybody's food was prepared excellent which you might not always get in a big chain restaurant. I had the surf and turf which consisted of a lobster tail, steak, baked potato. I also had shrimp cocktail and homemade walnut ice cream. The surf and turf was $54 and keep in mind that the steak was a fillet mignon. Shrimp cocktail had I think the usual 5 or so shrimp; the ice cream was wonderful too. From this review take what you will and think what you want, price was a little high for me though and I would like to maybe try to go when they were busy and when it wasn't with the specific group of people that it was with; I like to see if service changes.

Bluestone Dining Room at Pipestem State Park

The decor is very stale and possibly not updated in 20 years. A large buffet ran through the middle of the restaurant. The food on the buffet looked over cooked. So we decided to order off the menu. Big mistake. I ordered the fish and chips, my wife ordered the bruschetta and my daughter got the kids grilled cheese. After waiting about 50 minutes for food to arrive, I decided to ask the waiter if there was an issue with our food. I was told that food was delayed because there were two banquets going on at this time. Sorry, forgot to mention that the fire alarm would go off about every ten minutes with a loud piercing sound. Food arrived about an hour after ordering. My fish was a square about two inches wide. I questioned the waiter about the portion and was told that this is how it is served. Of course it was way over cooked. I ate it anyway because I was STARVING. The fries were okay but I had to tear apart catsup packets. The coleslaw was two bites of some food service crap. As I was finishing this mess, I turned to look at my wife and realised I got off easy. Her bruschetta looked like Melba toast slathered with green slime. She said she couldn't bite through it. My daughter's grilled cheese was ok. There are no restaurants within 30 minutes of here. I would recommend bringing some cold cuts with a cooler ( no frig in room). But avoid the Bluestone Dining Room. I've had better meals from third world street venders.
