It on Highway 88 about 8 miles east of Jackson, CA, three miles from Volcano, CA, about an hour before you get to Kirkwood Ski Resort.
This is one of my favorite ice cream places to visit. After leaving the Bay Area and not having access to Fenton's in Oakland, it's nice to be able to get top notch ice cream! I pick it up for special occasions to serve guests as well. Not a sundae bar, but you can't beat the quality. Waffle cones are yummy and make the parlor smell heavenly!

Had a great lunch here. We stared with the duck wing appetizer with a slightly spicy asian glaze, they were delicious. My wife had the garden salad with prawns and I had the fried chicken salad which I washed down with a Sculpin IPA. Both salads were great. We sat outside in the shady garden and were well looked after by the wait staff. It would be great to stay here next time we are in Amador/El Dorado Wine Country and try the dinner menu.

Had dinner with my sister. Got the chicken and artichoke heart. This is some seriously good pizza. I’m not a huge pizza fan but this pizza was excellent. They don’t skimp on the toppings. Better than even fancy pizza places.

Good portions, great burger and fries. Small hole in the wall, so not much seating. Staff and customers very friendly.

Fresh baked breads and pastries every day serving breakfast and lunch, and soups and sandwiches. We also do special-order baking and cakes for any occasion!
From a town of 100 people a wonderful little cafe that does fabulous baked goods , and has a selection of vegetarian and vegan food. Loved it. Bought their grain bread to take home too
My sandwich was delicious and coffee good, lovely atmosphere. After eating you can take a short walk in Volcano to enjoy tire Americana and old building preserved
A real gem

Experienced two remarkable dishes. The Pho noodle bowl and the clay pot. Both dishes were delicious and plentiful. Service is a bit slow, so bring your patience and time, worth the wait. The only thing that wasn't to our liking was the pot sticker appetizers. Prefer a steamed pot sticker.

En route to Yosemite we came across Cook's Station on Highway 89. It was an unexpected find and a real treasure. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the menu was fantastic. The food didn't disappoint either and the whole family of five were delighted with their choices. Top class diner - great food - great people - recommended

We have been steady customers of Las Minas for many years. Other reviews here have pretty much covered everything, but we wanted to add our two cents worth. The food is excellent, the servings quite generous, the staff is efficient and very pleasant, the prices very reasonable. Some favorites are: The large combos, the shrimp dishes, the tamales, and the crisp tacos. Of special note is the Huevos Rancheros Dinner: A big serving covered in a steak ranchero sauce makes for the best huevos I have ever found anywhere--most places just serve a meatless mild red sauce, which is really wimpy in comparison. We are locals and major fans of Las Minas.

Come in and be prepared to enter another time.....
Come see the way your Grandparents or Great Grandparents enjoyed life in a small country store atmosphere.
Be sure to notice the old wooden floors along with the many antique bottle and cans collections.
Don't forget to take a souvenir of this place with you for the trip back home.
