Pienza, a town in Tuscany, is the "touchstone of Renaissance urbanism." In 1996, UNESCO declared the town a World Heritage Site and in 2004 the entire valley, the Val d'Orcia, was included on the list of Unesco’s World Cultural Landscapes. Pienza was the birthplace of Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini, who would become Pope Pius II. After he became Pope, Piccolomini had the entire village rebuilt as an ideal Renaissance town that would serve as a retreat from Rome.

800 metres from Pienza sorrounded by a very beautiful and large italian style garden; in the heart of Orcia Valley; relax and wellness area at guest's disposal; typical Tuscan restaurant; wine producer.
Our four night stay at Agriturismo La Collina was a huge disappointment. The property is run-down and the service is non-existent . Breakfast was extremely poor and of the cheapest quality. The so-called superior rooms were of a very low standard. Our towels were NEVER changed for the whole five days we were there!! This has never happened to us in all our long years of traveling. The owner was very indifferent to our complaints. DISGUSTING.

A perfect tuscan experience Nestled in the heart of the rolling Tuscan countryside, Tenuta Santo Pietro is a family owned tranquil oasis comprising a twelve bedroom inn that dates back to the 13th century, a two bedroom stand alone cottage, a swimming pool with a magnificent view of Pienza, an award winning farm-to-table restaurant, and a 72 acre working farm including vineyards and olive groves. A stay at Santo Pietro is one of the best ways to enjoy all that Tuscany has to offer. Spend your day wine tasting, exploring medieval hilltop towns, relaxing in ancient thermal baths or biking along the famous Strada del Vino Nobile. There’s truly something for everyone to enjoy, and you will want to come back again and again.
Amazing place in the middle of Tuscany with warm and very polite service. The room was clean and cute, the food in the restaurant as well as the wine from their production, delicious. We enjoyed every moment and we want to go again for sure! Giuseppe, the owner was very willing to give more information about the area. Thank you for your hospitality!

We try to go to Italy every year. When we go to Italy, we always go to Pienza, When we go to Pienza, we always stay here. The Rooms are comfortable and the garden is wonderful for eating al fresco or just relaxing with a drink. There is an on-site washing machine and drying racks. There is a choice between several apartments and rooms. The day to day operation is run by Rosella, who is a pleasant ball of energy. The owner, Marco, is very accommodating and available to fix any problems. The garden has tables and lounge chairs for you to enjoy the out doors. This year we stayed there twice. Once at the beginning of our trip and once at the end. Both times for more that a week. We actually try to plan our vacation around staying here.

Il Giglio offers its guests spacious and luminous rooms, each wiht its own bathroom, provided with every comfort. The warm, friendly service of the Staff enhances any visit to Pienza, a Tuscan treasure, rich in art, culture and nature. The rooms, carefully restored and decoraded, reveal characteristic of the Tuscan style: terra cotta tyle, period decor, and wood-beamed ceilings; yet are furnished with TV, independent heating units, and refrigerators. There are also two apartment for 4 persons whit complete kitchen. Il Giglio is situated In the historical center of Pienza in a residence dating back to the Renaissance, just steps away from Piazza Pio II and Palazzo Piccolomini, which you may admire from some rooms.
Exactly what I need, great place, perfect location, clean and right in the heart of Pienza a such well designed town on a human scale. A big plus was the top floor where I spent 5 days with an gorgeous view of Val d’Orcia. “Il Giglio” has a very romantic SPA with Jacuzzi, Sauna and Turkish bath and all this is underground, in cave where I believe used to be a cantine for wines.... really to experience with a bottle of prosecco and strawberries! Thanks again Roberta you are a such wonderful host!!!

Pienza... Beautiful town situated between the hills of Val d 'Orcia. Pienza is an excellent example of Pope Pius II 's ideals of Reinassance architecture. Pope Pius II wanted to create a splendid city in memory of his papacy. He commissioned the most famous architects and artists to work together on this project, which would so implicity express the philosophy of Italian Renaissance. In 2004 an ancient building in the historic centre has been transformed in 3 wonderful Suites, one for each floor, called " Ideal City ". A tribute to Pienza's ambition to be a perfect city for living. Every Suite is decorated with a special attention and care. Every Suite of 40mq is elegantly furnished and equipped for absolute comfort, with a pretty sofa bed and can host until 4 people: TV, frigobar, air conditionig, free wi-fi, coffe-machine and a cattle. Every Suite has is own bathroom with a shower and hair dryer. Daily housekeeping.
We spent 3 days in a tastefully decorated suite located in a very central part of beautiful Pienza. Unfortunately for 2 nights our air conditioning was broken which, in 36deg heat, and with loud intermittent grinding and clicking noises, meant no sleep and scores of bites from having to leave our windows open. Having failed to address the issue, the contact - Carla - made several excuses including that the weather was particularly warm (precisely why we'd chosen accommodation with air con) and that the air con machine itself was 'too small for the suite'. The manner in which the issue failed to be dealt with was wholly unsatisfactory. After much negotiation Carla removed €60 from our bill as she 'couldn't offer anything more'. I asked to speak with someone who was responsible for the property and was advised that I couldn't do so but that she would let them know what had happened and come back to me. This was on 9th August and, having emailed to ask when I will be contacted, I have had no response. Pienza was beautiful. La Città Ideale Suites were lovely on day 1 but intolerable following this due to the temperature, but the treatment we received by their manager was appalling and will inevitably impact on business.

In the historical center of Pienza, on the Corso Rossellino, a few steps from Duomo, you will find L’ Affittacamere del Corso. It is situated on the first floor of a Reneissance building and is composed of three rooms. The original caisson ceilings are 4 meters high, and are surrounded by a frescoed frame with emblems of art and crafts. The doors are an elegant frame in a local stone and the floors are in bricks. The bedrooms have original furniture of the late ‘800 early ’900...

In the heart of Val d'Orcia natural park, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, Relais Val d'Orcia is ideal for enjoying the tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside and relaxing in the wonderful landscape. The Relais has 6 suites, unique environments, elegantly furnished where the charm of the Tuscan countryside melts with modern comfort.
We had a wonderful stay in In Relais Val D’Orcia. Laura and Simone are very hospitable people. Every morning fresh breakfast with home made cake/tart/banana bread, fresh fruit and the softest yoghurt we ever tasted. The beds are very comfortable and the B&B is very tidy and clean. The house is rebuild with the old bricks of the farm using the finest quality of materials. Having a parking place subterranean is really comfortable in summertime and the luggage elevator is also nice. They try to run the B&B as environmentally friendly as possible also making use of new technologies . We really enjoyed it.

A 12 room luxury boutique hotel inside the historic center of Pienza, a tiny UNESCO Heritage site village set in the rolling hills of southern Tuscany.
This is a wonderful hotel! Clean, modern and convenient. The staff are very special people who were not only knowledgable about the area but, very helpful and kind as well. One thing you must do is have dinner here...one of the best meals that we had during our visit to Italy!

Bemedetta and Cristina were lovely and sweet hosts that did everything to make our stay most memorable. The breakfast was delicious with many options to chose from. The location was amazing with plenty of attention to detail in the rooms. Luxurious in every way. Even Netflix on the TV were you can log yourself in with your account. We loved it and will be back for sure next time we are in the region.
