Welcome to untouched countryside. The history: Once upon a time there was a King, who fleeing for his life from his home town, was in search of a place where he could fulfill his passion for hunting. It was the end of the eighteenth century and the King was King Ferdinand III of Borbone. Fleeing from Naples he chose to settle in Palermo and while looking for a place to build his own hunting lodge, he came across the monumental and impressive Busumbra Rock and was ecstatic. It was by his wish that 30km south of Palermo, at the foot of the Busambra Rock, that an imposing royal lodge was built ...
Stayed here in the middle of cycling from Agrigento to Palermo. Beautiful spot. Gorgeous views. Charming buildings. Nice helpful staff. Did not notice a/c in rooms but did not need as visiting in April. Food very good and accommodated my gluten-free needs very well.

Giuseppe the owner is a nice and hussle free guy. I got the room through booking.com then decided to spend 1 more night. The shower in the outside bathroom is really a 'something'. WiFi is fast and reliable. I got the 3 bed room with a nice panoramic view over the town. City center is just 5' walk. Highly recommended

Located in a historic stone farmhouse in the middle of the Sicilian countryside, 10 minutes drive from Piana degli Albanesi, Agriturismo Sant'Agata features an outdoor pool and a restaurant serving regional cuisine. Equipped with features stone walls or ceilings with exposed beams, the rooms have a private bathroom and a patio overlooking the pool or courtyard. The restaurant at the Sant'Agata will serve meals accompanied by traditional Sicilian wines, while in the morning you can enjoy a varied continental breakfast of homemade cakes, freshly baked croissants and fresh coffee. The farm is a 30-minute drive from Palermo and 6 km from Lake Piana degli Albanesi.
Long overdue review. I stayed here this summer with my boyfriend and we had the most incredible experience. This is a family run b+b, the photos on the website do not do it justice. Our room was massive and the food was the best we had during our whole trip to Italy. I cannot stress how lovely the staff was, especially the young guy (I'm forgetting his name) but he made the best Bolognese I've ever had in my life. We will definitely be back!

Valle Himara is a charming, family-run inn located in a bucolic setting about an hour’s drive outside of Palermo. The nearby little town of Piana degli Albanesi is known for inventing the cannolo, but there is little to do there. So Valle Himara offers a relaxing, resort type atmosphere, and a great venue for events such as weddings, anniversaries, first communions, and baptisms, the latter three of which were celebrated during our 2 night stay. Our air-conditioned room was fairly basic, but comfortable. There is a resort-sized pool, and a wellness spa where I received a great massage from Francesca. Originally an equestrian school on the site, the hotel continues to provide horseback riding facilities. There is a free, huge parking area for large gatherings. Wifi is free and connects well. The food here is extraordinary, and incredibly reasonable. Our pre-fixe dinner for two, including a bottle of wine, as part of our half board, added €30 (about $35) to our room rate per night. Their antipasti with charcuterie, cheese, olives, caponata, grilled vegetables, and sun-dried tomatoes can practically feed a family of 10. The pastas, paccheri with boar cooked in wine on the first night, and spaghetti with beef ragu the second night were both outstanding. We could only eat half of the saltimbocca on the first night and on the second night, we passed on the secondi. There was just too much food. My husband wanted to visit Piana since his maternal family emigrated from here to the States. Thank you Cettina and Serena for making our stay so enjoyable.
