Nice and new hotel but the bed was the worst we have had in any hotel apart from that great hotel. really enjoy the night we spent there easy to find nice friendly helpful staff/owner. room was nice very tall ceilings good aircon and water pressure in the shower, quick wifi, was a shame about the bed. but is a easy fix so hope they take this onboard and update the mattress in room 4 :)

We stopped 2 days in this wonderful place ! The staff was so nice with us! We enjoyed the nice swimming pool and the sea... It was one of our best place in Thailand ! There is a nice restaurant just on the other side of the street.

Stayed here with family, what a charming place, the host was so very helpful, such a welcoming lady. Room was in the garden, we had our own bathroom and air con. Loved sitting by the river watching the wildlife.

This hotel is in a good location, close to the beach and village. There are some nice grounds to wander round and a good-sized swimming pool. Our room was clean, spacious, modern and well presented with a fridge and safe but perhaps a bit a lacking in character. The bed and pillows were very comfortable indeed. The balcony gave nice views of the garden and sea beyond. The shower was fine and the Wifi good. Birds seen around the hotel included: Red-collared Dove, Streak-eared Bulbul, Germain's Swiftlet, Black-naped Oriole, Great Myna, Asian Koel, Asian Pied Starling, Brown Shrike, Green Bee-eater, Hoopoe and Coppersmith's Barbet. Some of these were attracted to a nice flowering tree in the gardens. The staff were friendly and helpful (few of them speak much English - not a complaint - but just something to be aware of for English-speaking guests needing help with detailed arrangements). Good quality bikes were available to borrow, free of charge The restaurant was rather soulless and drinks and food rather expensive with a service charge and VAT added to bills. The food was not as good quality as the street food we had in Bangkok. However there are other places to eat a short walk away. Breakfast was ok (plenty of choice) but one morning we pre-ordered it (for an early start) without meat and the scrambled egg came with ham in it. It was however, quickly replaced. There was a noisy Karaoke in the hotel next door on our second night. We really liked the location and quality of the room at this hotel but were a little disappointed with the restaurant atmosphere, food quality and prices.

Decent hotels or resorts are at premium prices around here and if you manage to get one they are usually not at Thai prices, from my experience they are about 2500 baht, not cheap by any standards! Well guess what..this resort is well worth the price of 1500 Baht and probably worth more. The rooms are very clean but please remember if you leave food you will feed the things you do not want to come into your room. I used this as a stopover before entering the national park and to get value for money it makes sense. To enter the park it is best to do in the early hours about 0630hrs so this resort is only 10 minutes away from the visitors centre. If location is what it is about then this has it in spades. As the name suggests it is right beside a river and they have loads of playthings for young minded adults from swings out over the river to zip lines into the river. Boats and ATMs are available if you want a trek out or very nice seated areas with tables beside the river with very nice views. Very clean and staff although only speak Thai were very helpful. Rooms are modern style and all you would need including hot water. Definitely recommended.

Don't go to the Cha-Am Royal Beach. We booked 7 days (19-26 February) but had to leave it after one night. The hotel is terrible, in a very bad condition, it is located very remote from everything, it is not possible to buy drinks or food. There is no telephone connection to the hotel management. You cannot get a taxi from there, and you simply cannot stand to stay there. We only stayed one night, because we could not get away, and six days payment was wasted. It is a totally worn up place.
