This hotel is basic. Do not expect any luxe. The room is spacious. The breakfast does not mean much. the staff is very friendly and do their best to make you feel comfortable. You can get bikes from the hotel. But next to the hotel is a discotheque, bring earplugs because the decibels last until 4 am.

Happy home at DD Garden Home located at Amphur phayao, Phayao province. You will discover new rental room in natural park nearby center of phayao, luxury room at economic price including breakfast. This is the new landmark of Phayao
We stayed at DD garden home for just one night and really enjoyed it. The Chinese owners are very kind and good English speakers. The modern style bunglows are of good size, well equipped, have a very spacious bath room, all amenities needed, and comfortable beds (yes, the matress is hard, but for us that's perfect). Due to construction works in the neighbourhood it was not as quiet as it could at other times, and perhaps you can sometimes hear the highway, but it is not a major issue. We were two people but had booked the triple room and even got three times breakfast which was very generous. In all, we had a great stay at DD garden home and can really recommend this accomodation. It is a bit outside of town, you will need a car.

We spend 4 month a year in Thailand. Mainly in Chiang Rai and Wiang Kaen. The accommodation is far below expectations and price. Cleanliness is awful. Spider webs all over the rooms. Breakfast is not Thai like. They have bycicles but they can not be used. No help to find replacements. Positiv: the accommodartion is near the lake and the Internet is excellent.

I was traveling north of Thailand in 2018 February / March for 5 weeks and spent 10 days in "Oui Kaew Home Stay". It was wonderful...... Actually, I only wanted to spend 3-4 nights, but the kindness and helpfulness of Danny and his nice wife kept me in this guesthouse. The breakfast to my liking, very good lunch and dinner in the small family restaurant, the drive to shop or the active participation in English lessons in Danny's school, it was just great. I was able to rent a (Thai) bicycle for free, I was able to rent a good scooter (125 cc) from the family very cheaply and in the house I could use everything I wanted. With the scooter I was in the national park, at waterfalls and lakes. After I expressed my wish that I would like to drive one day to Laos and one day to Myanmar, Danny, the owner of "Oui Kaew Home Stay", immediately offered to drive me there on the weekend. These were 2 beautiful and exciting day trips, for a very reasonable price. At the end of 2018 or beginning of 2019 I would like to travel again to Thailand, also because again spend a part in the north and in any case live again in the "Oui Kaew Home Stay". Thanks to Danny and his wife, whose name I unfortunately forgot.

The good points: a well-built fairly new hotel with large comfortable rooms and a great view (Lakeside rooms). Spotlessly clean. Bad points: No management, or anyone of responsibility on site above the two young and rather timid receptionists over our 2 day stay. I needed a second key card as had I suffered a back injury (no fault of the hotel) and was confined to my room initially. My partner also required a key card to be able to gain access to the lift, and also to the room if I could not get up from my bed. The receptionist‘s response was that “the system did not allow for 2 cards to be issued”. I accepted that they might not have the authority to override this rule and asked to see the duty manager. I was told he would not be in till 10 am the next day. I asked to be notified when he arrived. He did not come in all day. When I pressed the receptionist to see him on the third day before we left it was admitted that he wouldn’t be in that day either, in fact no one could say when, or if, he would be in attendance. I would add that the reception staff appeared fearful when I asked for the manager’s name which I was only provided after making an absolute demand. It is unsafe that a hotel of this size be left unmanaged. In the event of an emergency there was no one of any authority to take charge. Breakfast was very poor; it was served in a coffee shop by the pool instead of the dining room - I presume as there were not many guests. I had no problem with this, but for a middle range hotel the breakfast itself was a disgrace. Perhaps what you might expect from a cheap budget motel but not for the price we paid here. For example, one had to make one’s coffee from an unpleasant tasting powder in a jar by an urn of hot water. Minimal choice and scanty quantity. I didn't bother with it after the first day and went to a near by cafe instead. Room - no safe, no hairdryer. Kettle but no coffee or spoons. This could be a really good hotel but it needs hands-on management. A bit of a walk into the town but doable and worth it for the peaceful location.

Have spent one night at this hotel accidentally en route chiang mai from phu chi fa. The room is big and comfortable for couple but furniture looks old. Security-wise is compromised as the door has no extra lock and could easily be broken in the event of door ransacking. TV channels are on satellite mode but mostly in Thai language and repetitious. For those who are running lover, this is the place I would recommend to spend the morning hours by putting on the running shoes and jogging along the scenery lake opposite the hotel.
